A little more context, because the point of my last reel clearly got lost.
The issue wasn’t simply that a man had an opinion about my body.
It was his tone, his reaction to looking at me, and the energy behind the comment. It was obvious to me that something about seeing a strong, muscular woman made him uncomfortable.
And rather than sit with whatever that brought up for him, he chose to make it my problem—to attack my body and make a judgment about me.
That’s the part that bothered me. Not his opinion. The projection.
I’m completely comfortable in my body. I LOVE my body.
I train because I love being strong.
I eat to fuel myself.
I train because it makes me feel powerful and allows me to do the things to want to do.
And I’m not interested in making myself smaller—physically or otherwise—to make someone else more comfortable.
For the women in midlife who are finally realizing they don’t need to be agreeable, attractive, quiet, thin, young-looking, or “appropriate” for everyone else:
Keep taking up space.
Your body is yours.
And unsolicited commentary?
Still not required. ❤️🔥
