Looking for a tangible way to support someone going through cancer treatment?
Every Friday, Wings of Hope delivers Survivor Bags to local hospitals for newly diagnosed cancer patients. And this year, just like nearly every program we offer, we’ve seen the need for these bags grow.
Each bag is packed with simple things that can make treatment days a little more comfortable: toothbrushes and toothpaste, lotion, lip balm, tissues, journals, water bottles, puzzle and activity books, hand sanitizer and more.
But there’s something else tucked inside, too: an introduction to Wings of Hope.
Every recipient learns that they can come to us for a free wig or cap if they need one, along with counseling, support groups, financial assistance and our other cancer support programs.
And every single bit of it is completely free.
No insurance required.
No complicated paperwork.
No red tape.
Just support when someone needs it.
With more bags going out and the price of everyday items continuing to rise, keeping our shelves stocked takes a whole community.
So, if you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to help Wings, but I want to donate something tangible,” this is a perfect way to do it. 💚
We are always grateful for donations of new Survivor Bag items because every toothbrush, tube of lip balm, journal or water bottle helps us put another bag into the hands of someone hearing the words, “You have cancer,” and remind them that they don’t have to navigate what comes next alone.
