We’re excited to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduate students who presented their research posters at this weekend’s annual LaBAA Conference!

Throughout the year, each student worked diligently to strengthen their research skills by selecting a research topic, identifying relevant literature, and replicating studies to further their understanding of the research process.

Congratulations to RBT, Courtney C. our February featured Behavior Technician.

Courtney is an RBT with a background in early childhood education and a strong passion for working with children with autism. As a mom of two, including a child with autism, she brings both professional knowledge and personal understanding into her work each day. She believes in early intervention and the importance of consistency, patience, and meaningful connection.

Courtney loves watching children grow, develop new skills, and gain confidence. She is dedicated to supporting her clients by making learning engaging and purposeful. She values being part of a supportive team and is known for her willingness to take on challenges and step in wherever needed, bringing positive energy and confidence to those around her. Courtney is a proud recipient of the Creativity Award at GulfSouth, recognizing her ability to think outside the box and make therapy both effective and fun.

Outside of work, you can usually find her cheering loudly at her sons’ sporting events or soaking up a sunny beach day. She takes pride in being present in her boys’ lives and brings that same heart into the relationships she builds with the children she works with.

Gulfsouth is participating in the yearly Crescent City Classic run/walk event, the event will take place on April 4, 2026. Below is the link to register, under GSAC Elopers. Congratulations to Kirsten Turner, RBT, for your dedication and committment to our clients! Learn more about Kirsten.

Kirsten is a Baton Rouge native and an honor graduateof the University of New Orleans where she earned her B.S in Psychology. She began working in the ABA field upon graduating in 2019 and soon found a home in Gulfsouth. Kirsten is motivated by Gulfsouth’s mission and the opportunity to make meaningful, everyday progress with her clients. She is also a proud recipient of the Teamwork, Creativity, and Adaptability awards and looks forward to continuing to show up with the support of her team.

Outside of work, Kirsten is a self-proclaimed foodie and adventurer who is never one to shy away from a challenge. Whether it’s cave tubing, snorkeling, or recreational sports, she is always up for an outdoor experience. On a warm, clear day, you might find her sitting by the lake planning her next getaway.

Kirsten is excited to establish roots in her new home of Covington. She enjoys supporting her colleagues, stepping in to help whenever needed, and contributing to a positive team environment.
When asked what inspires her, she says she’s moved by people who choose to show up as the best version of themselves.
