Tammany Parish Hospital emergency department is a non-bedded unit, providing emergency care for all patients without discrimination. STPH is Covington's accredited chest pain center and is the only west St. With good teamwork, STPH ER strives to treat every patient according to each individual’s emergency need in a timely manner. All patients requesting examination and/or treatment will receive an appropriate medical screening exam by a physician to determine if an emergency medical condition exists. Tammany Parish Hospital adjusts its system in the Emergency Department to consistently reduce wait times. In fact, the ER routinely benchmarks below the national average. Whether your visit to the ER is for a minor incident or a major infarction, our skilled staff is ready to care for you.

Flu season is coming; know where to go for care 👇

Getting a flu vaccine is one of the best ways to help protect yourself and others from influenza and reduce the risk of serious illness. 🩹

If you develop flu-like symptoms, you do not necessarily need to go to the Emergency Department. Before heading to the hospital, call St. Tammany Health System at (985) 898-4001 for guidance on whether your symptoms can be treated in one of our primary care clinics or whether you need emergency care.

St. Tammany Health System offers same-day appointments at its primary care clinics, as well as at its Express Care after hours walk-in clinics.

Congratulations to STHS Adult ICU Nurse Manager Rochelle Giacona, who has been named the recipient of St. Tammany Health System’s Nurse Leadership Daisy Award for 2026. ✨

Rochelle was nominated by a colleague for the honor – three times, by three different colleagues, in fact. Judging was focused on four specific characteristics: problem solving and critical thinking skills; motivation, inspiration and teambuilding skills; a focus on patient-centered and quality outcome; and support for the future of nursing and professional advancement.

STHS network connectivity restored ✅

Overnight Thursday into Friday, stability was restored to the St. Tammany Health System network.

STHS leadership thanks our colleagues, patients and families for their patience while we resolved the issue. Our diagnostic investigation found no indication of a cybersecurity event.

This morning, STHS Spiritual Care Services Coordinator Dana Trahan and STHS Bereavement Nurse Navigator Kristi Lamarque-Bordelon stopped by Lake 94.7 to talk about Walking with Angels – A Walk of Remembrance, as well as the bereavement services and support available through Spiritual Care Services at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

Walking with Angels – A Walk of Remembrance will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9–11 a.m. at the Koop Drive Pavilion, 21404 Koop Drive.
