Halloween 2026 is quickly approaching and there are a few important reminders, including a recently implemented downtown curfew for juveniles, that we'd like to highlight:
‼️️On Saturday, October 31, 2026 (Halloween), the juvenile curfew for the downtown area will be 7 PM. As part of our commitment to the safety of the citizens of Covington, this curfew has been instituted to maintain order and ensure the safety of everyone on our historic square this Halloween.
▪️Minors age 16 years or younger may not remain in public places within the Historic Downtown Entertainment District, including the Square, after 7:00 PM unless supervised by an authorized adult or are otherwise exempt under the ordinance.
▪️This ONLY applies to the boundaries of the Covington Historic Downtown Entertainment District which includes the Square.
▪️This area is bound by Usher Street to the north; Elm Street to the east; Conyers Street to the south; and Brown Street to the west.
▪️Outside the Historic Downtown Entertainment District, the City's regular juvenile curfew hours remain in effect (Municipal Code § 9.08.020(B)).
🎃 There are NO city sponsored events on the Square/in downtown Covington for Halloween. Trick-or-Treat on Legion Field will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Legion Field (3173 Mill Street NE, 30014).
🎃 There will be no traffic/street closures for Halloween within the downtown area for Halloween.
‼️Parents and guardians are responsible for their children's safety and behavior at all times. For the complete ordinance regarding Parental Responsibility, please visit https://library.municode.com/ga/covington/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=TIT9PUPEMOWE_CH9.08OFAGMI_9.08.010RECOMI
🎃 Safety First: Pedestrians must use sidewalks. Use marked crosswalks when crossing the street.
Trick or treat responsibly and safely for a scary good time this Halloween season.
