Flu season is coming; know where to go for care 👇

Getting a flu vaccine is one of the best ways to help protect yourself and others from influenza and reduce the risk of serious illness. 🩹

If you develop flu-like symptoms, you do not necessarily need to go to the Emergency Department. Before heading to the hospital, call St. Tammany Health System at (985) 898-4001 for guidance on whether your symptoms can be treated in one of our primary care clinics or whether you need emergency care.

St. Tammany Health System offers same-day appointments at its primary care clinics, as well as at its Express Care after hours walk-in clinics.

Last week, STHS nurse Mia Pohlmann stopped by Lake 94.7 to share the story behind the custom artwork she created for past and present breast flap patients to sign. 💗

Yesterday, Lori Cage, manager of the STHS Parenting Center, joined Lake 94.7 to talk about the upcoming 38th annual Monster Mash! The family-friendly event takes place Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bogue Falaya Park in Covington. 🎃👻

STHS’s Jason Green named to 2026 Great 100 Nurses list ✨

A little more than three years into his career at St. Tammany Health System, nurse practitioner Jason Green has already made a considerable mark on the care of patients with heart failure. Now, his work is being recognized on a statewide stage.

Jason, a nurse practitioner with Transitional Care, a division of STHS Home Care Services, has been named one of the Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana for 2026. The annual honor recognizes registered nurses who demonstrate exceptional concern for humanity, make significant contributions to the nursing profession, and serve as mentors and role models to others.

St. Tammany Health System recently welcomed a new class of nurse residents, with 11 new colleagues beginning the next step in their nursing careers in departments across the health system.

They are:

✨ Madison Degler (Telemetry Medicine B)
✨ Kandice Herndon (Telemetry Medicine A)

✨ Chloe Partridge (Mother Baby)
