Congratulations to our 2nd Quarter DAISY Award recipient, Danielle Monchgesang!

Danielle embodies the very heart of nursing through her compassion, kindness, and extraordinary dedication to her patients.

One patient, who is also a former RN, shared that Danielle cared not only for her physical needs, but for her mind, body, and spirit. Far from home and without family nearby, Danielle helped her connect with loved ones across the country so she could receive the support she needed during a difficult time.

"Danielle is kind, sincere, and truly understands what it takes to care for a patient—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well."

This recognition is especially meaningful because Danielle has made Lakeview Hospital history as the first nurse to receive the DAISY Award twice since our program began, making her our very first two-time DAISY Award winner. 🌟 She was also recently honored with a Multiple Nomination Pin, recognizing the many patients, families, and colleagues who have taken the time to celebrate her compassionate care over the years.

Danielle, thank you for the comfort, hope, and healing you bring to every patient you serve. Your impact reaches far beyond the bedside, and we are incredibly proud to have you on our team.

Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Congratulations to Kelo Landry, Director of Patient Safety and Quality, for being recognized on Becker's list of 132 Patient Safety Experts to Know!

Under her leadership, Lakeview earned its first Primary Stroke Center certification and achieved Level II Trauma Center designation—milestones that expanded the advanced care available to our Northshore community. Today, Kelo continues to lead quality and patient safety initiatives, oversee regulatory readiness, guide performance improvement efforts, and manage the hospital’s risk program.

A Team STEPPS Master Trainer with expertise in infection control, epidemiology, inpatient safety, healthcare quality, and Just Culture, Kelo is a respected leader whose work has improved the lives of countless patients and caregivers. In 2025, she was also honored with the Healthcare Heroes Award from New Orleans CityBusiness for her contributions to patient safety and quality care.

We are incredibly proud of this well-deserved national recognition and grateful for Kelo’s leadership, dedication, and lasting impact on Lakeview Hospital and the patients we take care of.

And her compassion extends beyond the hospital walls. Kelo has a special place in her heart for animals, and this photo captures her rescuing a turtle she found wandering in the Lakeview Hospital parking lot—a small act that perfectly reflects the kindness and care she brings to everything she does.
