A special thank you to Suelynn for sharing her time, knowledge, and expertise with our students! This valuable training helps prepare our future healthcare professionals to recognize warning signs, understand the importance of prevention, and know how to respond when a child may need help.

We are grateful for opportunities that allow our students to learn skills that go beyond the dental chair and help them make a difference in the lives of others. 🦷💙

On Friday, the TCAT Northwest Dental Assisting students had the opportunity to tour R-Dent Laboratory and get a behind-the-scenes look at the important role a dental laboratory plays in patient care! 🦷🔬

Students learned about the process of creating removable and fixed prosthetics, including dentures, partials, crowns, and bridges. They also learned the importance of accurately completing a laboratory prescription (lab script) and providing all necessary information to ensure the lab can successfully fabricate the restoration or appliance.
A special thank you to Mr. Daxton and Mr. Greg for emphasizing the importance of building a strong relationship and maintaining good communication between the dental office and the laboratory. That partnership is essential in helping the dental team and laboratory work together to provide the best possible outcome for each patient.

We are incredibly grateful to R-Dent Laboratory for welcoming our students and for sharing your time, knowledge, and expertise with our future dental assistants. Experiences like these allow our students to see how everything they are learning in the classroom connects to real-world dentistry. 💙🦷

Thank you, R-Dent Laboratory, for investing in the next generation of dental professionals!

🦷 Dental Materials in Action! 🦷
Over the past few weeks, the TCAT Northwest Dental Assisting students have been working hard learning all about the many dental materials used in dentistry!
From pouring impressions and trimming models to fabricating whitening trays, students have been gaining valuable hands-on experience while learning the purpose and proper manipulation of a variety of dental materials. They have also been exploring restorative materials, cements, bases, liners, impression materials, and much more!
Understanding dental materials—and knowing when, why, and how they are used—is an essential part of becoming a skilled and productive dental assistant. Building this strong foundation now will help prepare our students to confidently assist the dental team and provide quality patient care in the future. 🦷💙
Learning the materials. Building the skills. Preparing for the profession! 💪🦷

Sometimes you just have to take a break from all the studying and hands-on learning to have a little fun! 😂🦷

No students, equipment, or “bears” were harmed in the making of these memories. 🐻🤣

Because even future dental assistants need a little time to laugh, have fun, and enjoy the journey! 💙🦷✨
