Living with COPD can be frustrating. When breathing becomes more difficult, it can affect more than your lungs. It can impact your mood, confidence, and daily routine, too.
Many people with COPD experience feelings of sadness, anxiety, or discouragement, especially when they feel limited by their condition. But COPD does not have to define your life.
A few ways to help stay positive and engaged:
✅ Stay as active as your healthcare provider recommends
✅ Take medications and oxygen as prescribed
✅ Stay connected with family and friends
✅ Focus on what you can do, not what you can't
✅ Learn as much as you can about managing your condition
✅ Talk to your healthcare provider if feelings of sadness or depression persist
Many people living with COPD continue to travel, garden, attend family events, enjoy hobbies, and stay active in their communities. Sometimes it takes adapting, not giving up.
