Jared P. Ventetuolo

54, of Cranston, formerly of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, from complications of cholangiocarcinoma, with his wife and son by his side.The cherished son of Dennis and Ruth (Lawlor) Ventetuolo of Johnston, Jared attended Sarah Dyer Barnes Elementary, St. Rocco’s School, Our Lady of Providence, and LaSalle Academy, where he met his wife, Nicia. A graduate of Rhode Island College, Jared earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, worked in RIC’s Bursar’s Office, secured a position with The Providence Journal, and went on to graduate from Providence College in 2010 with an MBA. Jared continued his career in accounting and finance at Daly.commerce, Collette (Vacations), and AAA Northeast before accepting the position of FP&A and Revenue Manager with The United Way of Rhode Island. While Jared made lasting friendships in every work environment, he simply loved the culture and challenges he found at The United Way.An avid Yankees fan, Jared and Nicia made Manhattan, the Bronx, and Yankee Stadium their honeymoon destination. Jared found it amusing to wear his Yankees ball cap on the streets of Boston, and stood out from the crowd during football season in full Raiders attire as a native New Englander.Jared played guitar and bass for many years, the former since childhood. While he greatly enjoyed listening to and playing live music, his absolute favorite past time was jamming in the basement with his beloved son, Jacob, whom he deeply loved.Jared was an all-around nice guy. He was compassionate, respectful, thoughtful, and helpful. A friend to everyone, he was a lover of animals, a huge fan of Christmas Eve, and a great believer in putting family first. He included Downtown Providence good, strong coffee and Pug dogs amongst his favorite things. He will be missed in ways that are impossible to put into words.Jared‘s family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Abrams of Dana Farber Cancer Institute, for always taking the time to sit and reassure Jared, for never being in a rush, and always being concerned. They would also like to acknowledge the nursing staff of Tower 10 C at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, particularly Ellie R. who bonded with Jared and Nicia immediately and was a constant source of hope, support, and kindness for them.Besides his wife, parents, and son, Jared also leaves his sister, Dana Ventetuolo of Cranston, his brother, Dennis (Rebecca Murray) of Lincoln, his niece, Romi Ventetuolo, and his mother-in-law, Sandra Gendron. He was the son-in-law of the late Henrie P. Gendron and the late Ronald F. Travers. He was the Uncle of the late Nico Ventetuolo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Louisa E. (Capobianco) Iannotti

97, of Johnston, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. She was the devoted wife of the late William P. Iannotti. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gulia Capobianco.

After retiring as a social worker with the State of Rhode Island, Louisa showed no interest in slowing down. She embraced needlepoint, shopping, and knitting, became an avid golfer, and thoroughly enjoyed her time at the casino. She also served as a Goodwill Ambassador for AARP and generously volunteered her time at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, the Johnston Senior Center, and St. Bridget’s Church. Louisa loved her family deeply and endured profound loss with the passing of her husband William in 2002, her grandson William in 2005, and her son-in-law Anthony in 2007. Throughout it all, her family, extended family, and friends remained steadfastly by her side. After moving to Chapel Hill, she formed new friendships; those who knew her often remarked that she was always a challenge, but one you could not help but love.

Louisa is survived by her loving children, William P. Iannotti and his wife Audrey of West Warwick, and Linda Matracia and her companion Normand Girouard of Johnston. She was the cherished grandmother of Alexis DelSignore and the adored great-grandmother of Billie Rayne DelSignore. She is also survived by her brother, Angelo Capobianco, and her sisters-in-law, Patsy Kettle and Barbara Selby.

She was predeceased by her son-in-law Anthony Matracia; her cherished grandson William V. Iannotti; her brother Ernest Capobianco; Mary Zoglio; Christian Manfredi; her sisters-in-law Gloria Capobianco and Florence Capobianco; and her brothers-in-law Tony Zoglio and Vinny Manfredi.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Toni Crispino for the beautiful styling of Louisa’s hair, and a special thank you to all the wonderful employees and residents at Chapel Hill for the care, kindness, and love they showed Mom.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 27th, from 8:30-10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

David John Miele

66, of Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away on August 16, 2026.

Born May 4, 1960, in Providence, Rhode Island, David was the son of Louise (DiChiara) Seligman-Miele and Frank Miele Sr. He grew up in North Providence, where he cherished his time in the neighborhood and developed a lifelong love of sports, most notably basketball and baseball. A talented athlete, some of David’s fondest memories were made playing the sports he loved and spending time with friends.

David spent much of his time as a counselor at Adult & Teen Challenge, an organization that held a very special place in his heart. Adult & Teen Challenge was more than a program to David—it was a place of hope, healing, growth, and second chances. Through the people he met, the challenges he faced, and the lessons he learned, he found strength, purpose, and a community that became an important part of his life. David was proud to give back as a counselor, using his own experiences to offer hope and support to others on their journeys. The relationships he built and the lives he touched there will remain an important part of his legacy.

David will be remembered for his perseverance, faith, and hope, as well as the love he had for those closest to him.

David is survived by his brother, Frank Miele; his niece, Arianna Miele; as well as extended family members and dear friends.

Steven P. Amaral

Steven Amaral of Johnston passed away unexpectedly on August 18th.

Steven was a lifelong mechanic and the proud owner of D and S Towing. He also proudly served his country as a Private First Class in the United States Army as an Indirect Fire Infantryman.

Steven was the son of the late Joseph and Barbara Amaral and the brother of the late John Amaral.

He was the devoted father of Daniele Amaral of North Carolina and Steven Amaral Jr. of Johnston, Rhode Island, and the beloved Papa of his granddaughter, Natalea Cotugno of Smithfield. He also leaves behind Michael Cotugno, Natalea’s father.

Steven is survived by his siblings, Cheryl Marino of Johnston; Joseph Amaral Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and Karen Amaral of East Greenwich. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom he loved very much.

The family would like to make special acknowledgment of Robert “Fruit” Ferranti, Steven’s best friend of 50 years, as well as his beloved Friday night crew of friends, with whom he treasured spending time. Steven had many of the same friends from childhood, and every Friday night they gathered to play high-low jack. Those friendships were a special and cherished part of his life.

Steven had a larger-than-life personality and made friends with everyone he came in contact with. To know Stevie was to love Stevie. He had a mischievous spirit that could turn an ordinary day into a story that would be told for years to come. There were always “Stevie shenanigans.” He knew how to have fun, make people laugh, and bring a little bit of chaos wherever he went. Those are the moments that will make him unforgettable.

Steven enjoyed many things in life, but the lake held a special place in his heart. He was happiest with a fishing rod in his hand, spending countless hours on the water with his buddies. He also enjoyed his Friday nights, trips to Twin River, and loved playing the numbers. His love for his animals was just as genuine and deep as the love he had for his family.

But above all else, Steven’s heart belonged to his children, Daniele and Steven, and his beloved granddaughter, Natalea. Being a Papa was one of the greatest joys of his life. Steven had a profound love for Natalea and never missed an opportunity to spend time with her. He cherished every moment they shared, and their bond was extraordinary—a love that will remain with her for the rest of her life.

The last day Stevie spent on the lake was with his granddaughter, after they attended their weekly Sunday Mass together. It was a moment that perfectly captured two of the things that meant so much to him: his faith, and being Papa to Natalea.

Beneath all the laughter and mischievousness was a heart that loved deeply. Steven welcomed family and friends with open arms and treasured the time he spent with the people he loved. His friendships went far beyond his Friday night crew; he had a way of making everyone he met feel like a friend.

Though his passing was unexpected, his impact was anything but. His family and friends will cherish the memories, laughter, stories, and “Stevie shenanigans” for the rest of their lives. The lake will never be the same without him—and the bass feel safer now than they ever did before.

As Stevie would say, “God bless.”

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 28th, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm at St. Thomas Church on Fruit Hill Avenue. He will be laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Debra Barton

Debra (DiNezza) Barton, 70, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, formerly of Cranston and Bristol, Rhode Island, passed away on July 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Born on November 24, 1955, Debra was the beloved daughter of the late Nicholas and Philomena (Vieira) DiNezza, and stepdaughter of Ethel DiNezza. She lived with and shared almost 20 years with her devoted life partner, Joe Limanni.

She is survived by her brother, Todd DiNezza of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; her sister, Cheryl and brother-in-law Jim Graham of Feeding Hills MA; her brother, Steven and sister-in-law, Lea DiNezza of Cranston; her cherished Aunt Nancy Vieira and Uncle Louie Vieira; and many loving cousins, extended family members, and dear friends from The Groves who will miss her deeply. Debra will also be lovingly remembered by Joe’s daughter, Jeannine Nenna, her husband, Mike, and their beloved children, Michael and Macey Nenna, all of Westerly.

Debra graduated from Bay View Academy in 1974 and went on to earn her Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1979. She later obtained a law degree in 1998 from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, reflecting her intelligence, determination, and lifelong love of learning. Debra enjoyed a distinguished 35-year career as a pharmacist with CVS in Rhode Island, where she was respected for her professionalism, compassion, and dedication to helping others. Outside of her career, Debra found great joy on the golf course. An avid golfer, she treasured the friendships, camaraderie, competition, and peaceful moments that golf brought into her life until her diagnosis of AML.

Debra will be remembered for her intelligence, strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Her warmth, generosity, and resilience touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 29, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, RI followed by a private burial at St. Ann Cemetery. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL.

Anthony D'Antuono

77, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini in North Kingstown. He was the devoted husband of the late Donna (Conca) D’Antuono.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Domenic and Katherine (Sucamosto) D’Antuono. Anthony was a cement finisher with Local 40 for many years before retiring. He was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran who served during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his loving sons, Anthony V. D’Antuono and his wife Lara, and Richard D’Antuono; cherished grandchildren Bianca and Vanessa D’Antuono; and his dear brother Donald D’Antuono and his wife Emma.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, August 26, at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston. Anna (Boranian) Parascandolo

96, of Johnston, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the devoted wife of the late Anthony Parascandolo, Sr.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Melkon and Hurpik (Sooltanian) Boranian. Anna served as a secretary for the Providence School Department for ten years.

She took great delight in cooking and gathering her family for Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations, which she held dear. She also found joy in tending her flowers, playing bingo, and dancing with her husband. A member of the St. Ann’s Society, she was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church in Johnston.

Anna is survived by her loving sons, Anthony Parascandolo and his wife Susan of Glocester; Alan Parascandolo of Greenville; and Gerald Parascandolo of London, United Kingdom. She was the adored grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of eight, and great-great-grandmother of one. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Boranian, her sisters Mary Goshgarian and Margaret Boranian. She also leaves her beloved dog, Hagop.

Maureen G. (Grattan) Wainwright

91, of Johnston, RI, formerly of Mashpee, MA and Warwick, RI passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Hope Health Hospice in Providence, RI. Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Mary (Hackett) Grattan and sister of the late Elizabeth Grattan. Maureen was the beloved wife of the late John J. Wainwright for 66 years.

Maureen was a graduate of St. Mary Academy, Bay View, class of 1953 and attended RI College.

Maureen and John raised their family in Warwick, RI. Maureen was a Special Education Aide for the Warwick School Department, CCD teacher, active parishioner of St. William Parish for 40 years and devoted mother to their 5 children. After retirement Maureen and John moved to Mashpee, MA in 1998, enjoying over 20 years of Cape living. Maureen especially enjoyed beach days with friends and family, time with her grandchildren, shopping, and volunteering with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Maureen and John were daily communicants at Christ the King Parish in Mashpee, MA.

Maureen is survived by her loving children, Karen Smith (Brian) of Cranston, RI, John J. Wainwright, Jr. (Karin) of East Greenwich, RI, Karol Gardner (James) of Deep River, CT, James Wainwright (Katie) of Windsor Heights, IA and Paul Wainwright (Sandra) of Franklin, MA; twelve cherished grandchildren, Anthony Deorsey, Jr., Ashley Hendrickson, Amanda Ghiya, Emily Vergano, John J. Wainwright, III, Colleen Gardner, MaryHope Sears, Maureen Wainwright, Megan Wainwright, Patrick Wainwright, Maia Wainwright and Lilah Wainwright; and seven cherished great grandchildren.

Thelma Marandola

Thelma Marandola, 86 of West Warwick, passed away on Sunday August 16, 2026, with her family by her side. Born in Searcy, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Nancy (Smith) Stringfellow. She was the beloved wife of David Marandola.

Thelma was a homebody, that was perfectly content with a good book, often about simpler ways of life or watching her favorite cooking show. A rare quality she found great solace, in her time spent alone.

Besides her husband David, she leaves her three daughters Valerie Murphy and her husband Steve of Douglasville, GA, Michelle DiPrete-Rosen and her husband Peter, of Narragansett, and Deserie Demers and her husband Paul of Charlestown, RI. She was the grandmother of Morgan, Michael both of Ohio, and Ashley, Tony, Shannon, and Jack all of RI. She was the great grandmother of 10. She was the sister of Kay McClain and her husband Rick of Conway, AR. She was predeceased by a brother Alivs Stringfellow.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. John & James Church, 40 Washington St., West Warwick. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. James T. Fleet

76, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at RI Hospital in Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 27 years of Shirlee K. (Irons) Fleet. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ralph and Dora (Napolitano) Fleet.

Jim was the owner of the former Fleet Printing Company and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. A lover of music, he was known as “The Legend DJ Jim”. He was a longtime NY Yankee and Dallas Cowboy fan, enjoyed reading and spending quality time with his family and especially with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife Shirlee, Jim was the devoted father of Karen Ludwig (Timothy) of Margate, FL, Steven Fleet (Lisa Hoopis) of Johnston, Lisa DiBiasio (Daniel) of Cranston, Matthew Pallini (Joanna) of Cranston and the late James “Jimmy” Fleet; cherished and loving grandfather of Nicholas Willner, Ryan Ludwig, Katie Fleet, Angelina DiBiasio, Matteo Fleet, Luca DiBiasio and Rocco Pallini; and dear brother of the late Joyce Belluscio and Robert Fleet.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 9:30 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS are Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
