Our ears work hard every single day… from alarms to conversations, phone calls, and all the little sounds in between.

That’s why hearing loss is so tough. You’re missing so much more than just a word here and there. You’re missing life’s moments. 💙

We believe hearing is essential to your quality of life. If you’ve noticed gradual changes, schedule a baseline hearing test. We’re here to help you to hear your best!

In honor of the Kentucky Derby this weekend, we’re talking about something you might not expect… horse hearing! Did you know:

🐎 Horses rely more on body language than sound to communicate
🐎 Their ears can rotate up to 180° (independently!) to track noise
🐎 Their ears don’t just hear, they talk. Forward = listening. Back = warning.

Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Cold weather can be tough on hearing aids. ☃

If your devices sound weak, cut out unexpectedly, or seem to be draining batteries faster than usual, winter moisture or temperature changes may be to blame.

The good news? Many winter-related issues can be resolved with a professional cleaning, drying, or minor adjustment. In some cases, though, repeated problems can signal that your technology is nearing the end of its lifespan.

We take the time to evaluate what’s really going on and walk you through your options. We want to help you hear with confidence all year long!

Fall reminds us that change can be beautiful. As leaves turn and seasons shift, nature gently shows us that letting go of old habits, fears, or uncertainties can lead to something better.

Trying hearing aids for the first time can feel like a big change. 🦻

But what if that change brought clarity, confidence, and a deeper connection with the people you love? As uncomfortable as it can be, it’s important to remember:
✨ There is beauty in embracing something new.
✨ There is power in hearing life fully again.

If you’ve been holding back because of fear or discomfort, maybe this season is your sign to let go and step into something better for yourself. Follow the advice of the leaves! 🍂

Did you know that hearing loss can contribute to cognitive decline?
When your brain works overtime to process sounds, it leaves less energy for memory and problem-solving.

Do you think everyone sounds like they're mumbling?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if this is you…. you are probably hearing the low frequencies of speech, but you’re having difficulties hearing the high pitch sounds. 🗣

This is the most common type of hearing loss I diagnose. This type of hearing loss allows you to hear the vowels but not the constant sounds.

Take the word “thirsty” for example. You might hear the “i”, “r”, and “y” pretty well. However, it may be hard for you to understand the “th” and “s” sounds.

If this is you or someone in your family, it might be time to get in for a hearing test!

Keeping your hearing aids clean can make a big difference in how they perform! The exact steps depend on the type of hearing aid you wear:

✨ In-The-Ear (ITE) Hearing Aids: Wipe them down with an alcohol swab and swap out the wax trap.
✨ Behind-The-Ear (BTE) Hearing Aids with an Earmold: Stop by to have your microphone covers replaced and the earmold tubing changed out.
✨ Receiver-In-The-Ear (RIC/RITE) Hearing Aids: Change out the rubber dome and wax trap for a fresh start!

Need supplies or a little extra help? We've got you covered! And if you think your programming needs an update, schedule a hearing aid check!

A little spring cleaning can go a long way toward clearer, better hearing. 💙
