Blessings Home Care LLC ‼️

At this time, Blessings Home Care will be temporarily pausing the acceptance of new clients due to current staffing limitations.

Our priority has always been to provide reliable, compassionate, and consistent care to every individual and family we serve. We feel it is in the best interest of our current clients—and our caregivers—to focus our available resources on maintaining the quality of care our clients deserve.

If you have already spoken with us regarding starting services, please know that we will honor those arrangements and continue working with you as discussed.

Although we are temporarily pausing new clients, we highly encourage anyone interested in our services to call our office and ask to be added to our wait list. This will allow us to reach out to you as staffing becomes available and we are able to safely welcome additional clients.

This is only a temporary pause. As our staffing availability improves and we are confident we can take on additional clients while maintaining the high standard of care our current clients deserve, we will begin accepting new clients again.

I believe God has had his hand in this business from the beginning! And this is part of his plan for us! 🙏

Sundowning can make late afternoons and evenings really tough for people living with dementia. As the day winds down, confusion or agitation can rise - sometimes because of something that happened earlier, sometimes because a need isn’t being met. Gentle reassurance, distraction, and familiar memories can help bring them back to a calmer place.

Here are 3 tips to help you navigate a loved one experiencing sundowning:

1. Sometimes what seems like ‘sundowning’ could be the person trying to communicate a need. This could be needing the toilet, feeling hungry or being in pain.

2. Uneven indoor lighting and reflective surfaces can sometimes cause confusion by creating disturbing shadows or mirrors. Close the curtains or blinds once it starts to get dark and cover the television with a dust cover, if it’s not being used.

3. If they seem unsettled, think about whether something earlier in the day may have affected them. Try calming them with distraction - like talking about a favourite memory. If they stay agitated, they may have an unmet need.
