It was hard to hear about her bad experience at a CrossFit gym being a former CrossFit gym owner.

I was determined to gain her trust and help her have a whole different experience with fitness this time though.

It doesn’t really matter that it was a CrossFit gym... it’s really more of a story about how much our actions towards others can positively or negatively affect their lives.

And it’s a story of how “Caroline” completely transformed her relationship with food, strength training, sleep, and mindset from the ground up.

It’s a story of how she didn’t let that one bad coach define the rest of her health and fitness journey.
It makes me wonder how many others have had similar experiences that hold them back from trying fitness again.

I couldn’t be happier or prouder of “Caroline” today.

OTHER IMPRESSIVE RESULTS:
-Lost 16 lbs in a steady, sustainable way maximizing building
lean muscle while losing body fat. She did a great job of learning to focus on the process and forgetting about the scale when progress wasn’t happening as fast as she wanted.

Why is the internet still so enthralled by drastic, fast weight loss when that rarely ever ends well? She did it the right way IMHO by focusing on building a better relationship with healthy foods and strength training. This is the way to improve our metabolic health for the long term.

-Built so much strength and capacity in all the foundational movement patterns - push, pull, cardio, core, hinge, squat.

-Invested in equipment for a home gym space so she can continue in our Ascend Phase... that’s where we program all her training and do a monthly check in.

-I was probably most touched by her parting conversation when she had tears in her eyes... “we had a lot of deep conversations that meant a lot to me... I’m really glad I trusted myself and you to give fitness another try... if anyone ever wants to know more about Feel Better Training I’d be happy to talk to them.”

As a small business owner that means the world to me... no higher compliment than someone happily wanting to send you more business.

What means even more is knowing “Caroline” is living her best life now! Let’s hear it for her! 👏

We aren’t born able to solve equations… and so it is with navigating pain.

There’s so many factors involved with pain just like algebra.

What part of it is physical and what part of it is mental?

What’s the numerator and denominator again? 🤪😂

If a 3 year old stubs their toe they will cry bloody murder because of the emotional uncertainty.

They don’t know if the pain will ever go away.

If you stub your toe you’ll probably let out a few cuss words and go on with your day.

As we get older we learn to accept pain and live with it. Tell ourselves stories like:

“This is part of getting older.”
“It could be worse.”
“Bad backs run in my family.”

Are those REALLY true?

What if there was a way to resolve chronic pain?

To live again like your memories of being younger when you took for granted being able to move pain free?

Do you want the good news or bad news first?

The bad news is it takes work.

The good news is doing the work is the shortcut you’ve been looking for.

I’m living proof of that. Chronic back pain for years until I followed the process I’ve taken clients through to LIVE MORE HURT LESS.

An Active Life Professional (AL-P) trainer is educated to help you solve the equation of your pain problems.

That’s me. I’m an Active Life trainer. So is my coach and she helped me find the right formula to resolve my back problems.

And the equation we help you solve is Load vs. Capacity. It’s outlined in the pics from in our stories.

If we aren’t an exact fit for you we’ll find the right AL-P for the job.

We can work with you via Zoom or I’ll put a link to the AL-P map in my stories so you can find one close to you.

You’re not too old to live pain free.

You are too old to keep doing what’s not working.

Come see and feel the difference at FBT!

At her monthly check in I told her she was going on the FBT Wall of Fame someday…

So I asked her what big, scary goal she could set that if accomplished she would feel like a rockstar?

In true Jessica style she set two!

1️⃣ Walk all the way to McKinley Park and back. It’s around 5 miles and would be further than she’s ever walked.

2️⃣ Deadlift her body weight. She’s been on a weight loss journey for a while and is already 100 lbs down.

The thing she’s done a great job of though? Shifted to focusing on building strength and eating real foods instead of weight loss being her only metric for success. The weight loss is taking care of itself!

Are you ready to do what Jessica has? We have in person training, Zoom training, and online programs open now.

Ryan graduated with high honors! No surprise as he’s always been the kind of person you could count on. He took the qualities that makes him a good parent, husband, and high achiever in his career and used them for his health.

His words:

My definition of being healthy - Before working with Chris my definition of being healthy was pretty narrow, I was mainly concerned about my weight and getting through my yearly physical without the Dr. wanting to put me on medication. Now, I see being healthy as so much more. Being healthy now is all encompassing, it includes having tools to manage stress, getting enough sleep, feeling strong physically and mentally, and of course eating to fuel my body vs. fill my stomach. I have a much more holistic view of being healthy than I have in the past thanks to Chris!

Things I can do now that I couldn’t when I started - There’s so many things I can do now that I couldn’t before I started working with Chris, from physical things like pull-ups and hanging knee raises to other things like caring about the type of food I put in my body. I can wear clothes I haven’t been able to wear in a while and I have more confidence and faith in myself than I did when I started.

How is my life different - I think the biggest difference in my life is that I now have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to stay healthy so that I can live an active and full life as I continue to get older.

He graduated from our Development phase (one on one Zoom sessions) to the Ascend phase (following FBT programming with a monthly check in).

I have all the faith in the world he’s going to continue crushing it! If he can do the Norwegian 4x4 cardio program on his own and these single leg Romanian deadlifts he can do anything! 😅💪

We used her scholarship funds to buy more home equipment and she said she’s super excited to use it. She even said she went to bed last night excited about today.

THANK YOU everyone who donated money to help her with her fitness journey. She’s a single mother who cleans houses to help make ends meet.

She’s overcame so many challenges in life but has a great attitude. We should all be as excited to get healthy!

At the end of her session she shared that she was struck by lightning at 7 years old which resulted in a badly burned face. As you can see she’s made a full recovery.

If I told you everything she’s overcome you wouldn’t believe it but let’s just say I’m inspired and honored to coach her.

Way to go Jessica!

Mitzi has come a long way in her health journey! She’s a dear family friend and we are grateful for her.

In her words:

What’s your definition of healthy?

“My definition of being heathy is being able to do the things I love such as hiking, swimming, playing with grandkids. And just in general to be able to wake up and get out of bed feeling good.”

How is your life different since you started training?

“I definitely have more stamina then when I first started and my mental and physical heath are much better. Joints are less achy too. My life is different because I now have the tools to continue my heath journey and I am happier and healthier. You and Bre are wonderful coaches!!”

She and her bestie, Shirlee, do small group personal training with Bre and regularly debate whether to come on their hour long drive to the gym… but they’ve been winning that debate and showing up for years! 😅🤣💪

FBT SUCCESS STORY SERIES

Client profile: 63 year old female with a desk job

-Relationship with food much better.

“I’m controlling my food choices. The food noise doesn’t control me anymore.”

Check out all these other wins!

-Strength training 2x per week.
-Doing extra cardio on her own.
-Makes time for movement snacks at work.
-Regular breath work snacks to manage stress better.
-Mindset even more positive! Embraced healthy living as a lifestyle not a short term change.
-Built major strength in all 6 foundational movement patterns: 1) push 2) pull 3) core 4) cardio 5) hinge 6) squat. She’s especially strong with single leg hip hinges.
-So much fun to work with and even has a dynamite “flexing pose” she broke out into recently. Caught myself smiling as I write this thinking about it. 🤣💪
