A common antidepressant is finding a new role in the care and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease patients.
Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) are well known as general antidepressants. However, their role in dementia care goes beyond treatment for anxiety and depression. SSRIs, citalopram in particular, may treat a whole range of symptoms in Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.
