Back-to-school season can bring excitement, change, and new challenges โ especially for children navigating ADHD.
As kids begin a new school year, it is important to equip them with coping tools, focusing strategies, and realistic goals that help them feel supported both in and out of the classroom. Grounding techniques can be especially helpful for improving focus, calming the body, and bringing a childโs attention back to the present moment when they feel overwhelmed or distracted.
Creating SMART goals can also help break larger goals into smaller, more manageable steps, allowing children to build confidence and celebrate progress along the way.
Behavioral therapy can be beneficial in helping children strengthen focus, improve emotional regulation, build routines, and develop healthier behavior patterns. With the right tools and support, children can learn strategies that help them navigate school, friendships, responsibilities, and daily challenges more effectively.
At The Center for Courageous Living, we are here to support children and families as they prepare for a successful school year.
