Walking with changes in direction to avoid obstacles is a practical task that requires cooperation from the different parts of your balance system. Walking in a serpentine pattern demands frequent direction changes. Layering in obstacles makes the task more difficult. This task can be more difficult by adding in more obstacles, changing the speed, walking backwards, or placing the cones closer together. It can be made more simple with less obstacles, removing the bending/carrying component of the task, and spreading out the course. Ask your healthcare team if this is a good one for you!
