on for Primary Stroke Centers. The medical center also has an innovative alliance with UF Health for stroke care and is nationally recognized as a Blue Distinction Center+ in the areas of knee and hip replacement by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies.

Advancing the future of neuroscience care.

Tampa General was named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care by Newsweek in seven specialties, including Neurological Care. This recognition reflects the advanced treatments, innovative technology and multispecialty expertise delivered through the TGH Neuroscience Institute in academic partnership with USF Health-University of South Florida.

Congratulations to our President & CEO, John Couris, on being honored as a Father of the Year by the National Father’s Day Council during its inaugural Tampa Bay awards celebration! John was presented with the award by his children, Ben and Isabelle, making the moment even more special.

We're also proud to congratulate fellow honoree Oscar Horton, a member of the TGH Board of Directors and the USF Board of Trustees, on this well-deserved recognition.

This Father of the Year honor has been awarded to notable leaders throughout the years, including U.S. presidents, business executives and philanthropists whose lives reflect a commitment to family and community. Happy early Father's Day to all the dads whose love, guidance and support help shape the next generation. 💙

Sometimes, the smallest moments can make the biggest difference. 💙

When 6-year-old Sophia arrived at our Emergency Center on her birthday, nurse Shelby noticed her sparkling birthday dress and asked how she was celebrating. Sophia's mother shared that they were staying at a local shelter and unfortunately wouldn't be doing much for her special day.

Wanting to make sure Sophia felt celebrated, our team came together to create an impromptu birthday party complete with decorations, cake, gifts and plenty of smiles. What started as a routine day quickly became a birthday Sophia and her mother will never forget.

We're so grateful to the compassionate team members who went above and beyond to bring a little joy to a child on her special day. Happy Birthday, Sophia! 🎂
