Your eyes deserve protection at home, too. 👁️🏠

Everyday projects and chores can put your vision at risk, but simple precautions can make a big difference. Wear protective eyewear during DIY projects, check lawns for debris before mowing, use safety goggles when working with cleaners or solvents, and never mix cleaning products.

A few extra seconds of preparation can help prevent a serious eye injury.

Protect your eyes at home — because your sight is worth protecting.

A big thank you to our VisionAmerica team for representing us at the ALOA Annual Convention in Birmingham! 👁️💙

VisionAmerica is proud to continue supporting the Alabama Optometric Association as a Diamond Partner, and this year’s convention was another great opportunity to strengthen relationships across Alabama’s optometric community.

Special recognition goes to Cari Heiberger, Kimberly Agee, Ashley Barron, and Jessica Bennett for the time, energy, and effort they put into preparing for and supporting the conference. Giving up part of a weekend to represent VisionAmerica does not go unnoticed.

From coordinating the booth and materials to connecting with attendees throughout the event, this team kept their eyes on the prize and represented VisionAmerica with professionalism, partnership, and a strong commitment to the communities we serve.

Thank you for helping us make the most of our Diamond partnership with ALOA — and for being the people behind the partnership.

October is Blindness Awareness Month

A time to recognize the importance of accessibility, independence, education, advocacy, and inclusion for people who are blind or visually impaired.

Throughout the month, we also recognize important observances that help bring greater attention to vision health, Braille literacy, white cane safety, and equal access within our communities.

By increasing awareness and supporting accessible environments, we can help create communities where everyone has the opportunity to live, work, and participate more independently.

A Year of Shared Vision. Building What Comes Next.

One year ago, Atlantic Vision Partners, SouthEast Eye Specialists, and VisionAmerica came together as one organization under AVP·SEES.

Since then, our teams have continued to grow, strengthen, and evolve together with one shared focus: delivering exceptional eye care and helping patients see and live better.

Across our practices and surgery centers, every appointment, diagnostic test, surgery, phone call, and behind-the-scenes effort plays a role in the experience we provide.

This first year has also been about building a stronger foundation for the future — welcoming new providers, expanding access to specialty eye care, investing in our people and practices, and finding better ways to support our patients and teams.

We are proud of how far we have come and excited about what comes next.

To our patients, providers, employees, referring doctors, and community partners: thank you for being part of the journey.

One year together. One shared vision. A stronger future ahead.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness, encourage early detection, support those impacted by breast cancer, and recognize the importance of continued research.

Throughout the month, we honor patients, survivors, families, caregivers, and everyone whose life has been touched by breast cancer.

Awareness matters. Early detection matters. Support matters. 💗

Together, we can help share education, encouragement, and hope throughout our communities.

💻 Tip of the Month: Give Your Eyes a Break

Between computers, phones, tablets and other digital devices, many of us spend hours each day focusing on screens. That prolonged near work can contribute to tired, dry or uncomfortable eyes.

One simple habit that may help reduce digital eye strain is the 20-20-20 rule:

✓ Every 20 minutes, pause what you’re doing

✓ Look at something about 20 feet away

✓ Keep your eyes focused there for at least 20 seconds

These short breaks allow your eyes to relax from continuous close-up focusing and can also be a helpful reminder to blink more often—something we tend to do less when concentrating on a screen.

You can also support more comfortable screen time by keeping your monitor at a comfortable distance, reducing glare, adjusting screen brightness to match your surroundings and making sure your vision prescription is up to date.

Small breaks can make a big difference for your eyes. 👁️💙
