Friday, August 7th the Sylva pool will not open this afternoon.

Saturday, August 8th the Sylva pool will be closed due to staffing.

The parties scheduled for today and tomorrow will still happen. We will open on Sunday, August 9 for the last day it’ll be $1 per person kids under 3 free. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The Cullowhee Recreation Center is currently closed due to a local power outage. We will reopen on normal hours on 8/7.

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to keep everyone up to date on the Sylva pool.

One question I get asked a lot is why the Sylva pool is closed? The answer is that we are sometimes short-staffed, and other times it is due to the weather. Our guards have worked incredibly hard this summer, not just at the Sylva pool but also at our location in Cullowhee. Please be understanding, as we do have both part-time and full-time lifeguard positions open.

I cannot thank the guards and the community enough for your support.
