It’s easy to say “I’m fine” and keep moving.

Telling the truth about where you actually are takes courage. In therapy. In relationships. In the quiet moments when you’re alone with yourself.

That honesty is where healing starts.

KCW is now accepting new clients in California, New York and New Jersey.

Drop a 💜 in the comments or DM us to get started.

New here? Let’s properly meet 💜

I’m Emma, a therapist with KCW Psych. I work with individuals throughout California via telehealth.

I’m a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. My dad’s been a cook his whole life, and I grew up in a low income household with a mix of Mexican and American traditions.

Along with my sisters, I’m a first gen college graduate. AA from East Los Angeles College, bachelor’s in psychology from Cal State Dominguez Hills, and a master’s in MFT from USC.

Part 2 is coming, where I share more about my path to becoming a therapist.

Welcome to all my new followers 💜

Most people aren’t in therapy because they’re unaware of their patterns 💜

They’re there because they keep repeating them, and they keep repeating them because it’s what’s comfortable.

Therapy is about getting comfortable choosing something different. That’s how patterns actually break.

What’s a pattern you’ve caught yourself repeating?

I’m accepting new clients. DM me to get started.

This is the final part of our Work From Home and Mental Health. Catch parts 1 through 3 in my previous videos if you missed them.

No water cooler chats. No coworkers to mingle with. Just you and your day, with no one to talk it through with.

If this is you, try calling a friend on your lunch break. Work from a coffee shop for a couple hours. Or send a non work related voice note to a colleague and see if it shifts something.

Tag a friend below that you miss chatting with face to face.

If today feels harder to enjoy than it should, this one’s for you.

High achievers don’t struggle to work hard. They struggle to stop.

Rest starts feeling unsafe when your identity got built around output.

So today isn’t really about a day off. It’s about practicing the muscle of letting yourself have one.

Save this for the next time you feel guilty for resting.

Let’s talk about emotional avoidance 💜

It’s not just procrastination. It’s actually a coping strategy, and there’s a real reason it’s trending right now.

There are situations where avoidance is your best move. If you need to avoid something for safety, do it.

But if you keep avoiding, it keeps the fear alive. Eventually the thing you’re avoiding becomes the thing controlling you. That’s why it doesn’t work long term.

What’s something you’ve been avoiding that’s actually starting to control you?

I’m accepting new clients. DM me to get started.

Working from bed or a cluttered couch isn’t doing you any favors. Your brain associates specific spots with rest, so mixing work into those spaces blurs the line and pulls your focus toward chores instead of your task.

Try creating a dedicated tech free zone. Even in a small space, keep your bed strictly for sleep and your couch strictly for relaxing. If you can, keep one corner of your home entirely work free.

What does your current work from home setup look like? Desk, couch, or bed? Let’s chat below.

Everyone’s locking in this month. I want to offer a different definition.

Real change doesn’t come from four months of white knuckling it. It comes from knowing yourself well enough to build a pace you can actually sustain. That’s not less ambitious. It’s more honest.

If your version of locking in has room for rest, boundaries, and support, I’m in. If it doesn’t, I’d love to help you build one that does.

What does finishing this year well look like for you? Tell me in the comments 💜

If you struggle with overthinking, try this next time the spiral starts 💜

Name the fear. Name the evidence. Name what’s actually happening.

Three steps, one spiral interrupted.

Which one do you skip when you’re in it?

Why does working from home feel like you’re just living at work? 💜

There’s no commute, no transition, nothing that signals your brain to shift from one thing to another. So emails at 9pm feel normal. That’s how chronic burnout creeps in.

Try a digital commute. A 10 minute walk or a quick stretch at the beginning and end of your work day. It signals your brain it’s time to switch modes.

Drop a 💻 below if you’ve checked emails past your log off time this week.

Part 3 is coming soon….
