The Southwest has a way of reminding us: there is room to work, room to wander, and room to rest.

We can easily move from airport to rental car to hotel to meeting to dinner and expect our nervous system to simply keep up. But even an hour of intentional space can change how we arrive.

On the drive north from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, the landscape was putting on its own show, mountains stretching alongside the highway, enormous skies overhead, and even a little dust devil dancing across the desert.

One thing I’ve learned about traveling for work is that rest has to be part of the itinerary.

Mountains. Open road. Big sky. An hour by the pool.

Then, back to work. 🌿

This morning, while my herbal tea warms my hands, I’m filling the kitchen with food that will nourish us throughout the week.

The lineup: creamy risotto, a roasted whole chicken, vegan pesto pasta, mashed butternut squash, fresh arugula salad, and a batch of hard-boiled eggs ready for the second half of the week.

There is something deeply healing about preparing food with your own hands.

Just as our breath influences our nervous system, the food we choose becomes information for our bodies. When we slow down enough to cook, we naturally slow our breathing, engage our senses, and reconnect with the rhythms that support healing.

Here’s to real food, mindful breathing, and creating a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside. 💚

How are you nourishing yourself this week?

The world moves fast, but healing often happens in the quiet moments—in the crackle of a fire, the laughter between two people, and the reminder that enough isn’t found in doing more… it’s found in being present.

Here’s to choosing rest, simple joys, and creating space for what matters most.

Most of us were taught how to push through, stay busy, suppress emotions, and keep going.

The problem is that eventually our bodies begin speaking louder through anxiety, exhaustion, tension, poor sleep, irritability, overwhelm, and burnout.

Next Tuesday (7/7) I’ll be offering a 4-Week Breathwork & Emotional Regulation Series at the Healing Cabin (and online)

Over four Tuesday evenings, we’ll explore how breathing patterns influence stress, emotions, focus, sleep, and overall well-being. You’ll leave with practical tools you can use in everyday life—not just during class.

Tuesdays • July 7, 14, 21 & 28
6:00 PM – 7:30 PM EST

Healing Cabin • Cumberland, Maryland
Virtual Studio • Zoom

Leg 2 of the Wellness Tour 🌄

This stretch of the journey took us deep into the quiet of Cuba, staying on an isolated ranch beneath the wide New Mexico sky with distant views of Cabezon Peak. The kind of place where silence becomes medicine and the stars remind you how small and connected we really are.

We soaked in the healing waters of Jemez Hot Springs, explored the breathtaking landscape of Valles Caldera National Preserve, watched prairie dogs pop up from the earth like tiny guardians of the valley, and grounded ourselves with a hot 26&2 ninety-minute class in Albuquerque that completely wrung us out in the best way possible.

This trip wasn’t just rest. It was recalibration.

My best friend and I traveled, worked remotely in the middle of nowhere, mapped out business dreams, ate local food, cooked slow meals at home, and remembered that wellness is not always a luxury retreat. Sometimes it’s two people brave enough to unplug, breathe deeper, move their bodies, and imagine a different way to live.

The more I travel, the more I realize: healing loves open space. So does creativity. ✨

The first leg of the wellness tour is complete. ✨

This week held so many reminders that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in living rooms, yoga studios, brave conversations, and quiet moments where someone finally chooses themselves.

I stayed with a dear colleague, sharing dog snuggles, laughter, and long conversations about building the next chapter of her life. We mapped out business structure, tax strategy, downsizing, and how to create an office that actually supports the human behind the work. Watching someone step toward their own independence and vision is sacred to me.

And of course… the first thing I look for when I leave home is a hot 26&2 studio. My mental health strategy is movement, breath, heat, discipline, and returning to my body no matter where I am in the world.

Then came the women’s wellness event: Exhale.

Markers scattered, visions engaged. Women integrating their experiences through color, reflection, and mindset after an epic evening of integrative breathwork. You could feel the shift in the room… softer faces, deeper breaths, nervous systems finally letting go.

And to finish the week, a private 1:1 session with an incredibly compassionate human being willing to walk directly into his fears instead of running from them.

That’s what integrative breathwork does.

It bridges healing and wisdom.

We calm the nervous system with the circular rhythm of the breath long enough to finally witness what lives underneath the fear. And somewhere in that same breath, the body begins offering its own instructions for healing.

Watching him place his hands on his own shoulders, learning to self-soothe the demons of the past with compassion instead of punishment, reminded me again why I do this work.

Breath by breath, people remember they can become safe for themselves again.

One thing about mountain towns… sometimes the food options humble you. 😂

So every time I come to the city I become deeply emotional about: fresh herbs, actual spice, vegetables that taste alive, Thai food at 7pm, tofu done correctly, menus with OPTIONS, not having to choose between fried cheese and sadness.

Food is such a gift.Travel is such a gift. And honestly, getting to guide breathwork by night and eat my feelings through string beans afterward feels like peak adulthood.

Working from a cozy corner today at The Travel Mug in Grantsville 🍵 🌿

There’s something about small, intentional spaces like this that reminds me why I do what I do.

Behind the screen is WOBA Consulting—where I support individuals and organizations in building businesses that actually feel good to run. Not just efficient… but aligned, sustainable, and human.

Because the truth is business isn’t separate from how we live. Our systems, our stress, our decision-making… it all shows up.

That’s where the holistic piece comes in.

I help bring clarity to operations, soften the overwhelm, and create structures that support both the business and the person running it.

And just like that work places like The Travel Mug matter. They hold community. They give us space to think, connect, and create.

So today’s reminder:
Support local. Build intentionally. And don’t forget, you get to design a business that supports your life, not drains it.

Tonight felt like stepping into the roaring 20s ✨

I had the joy of attending a Great Gatsby Gala fundraiser at the beautiful F. Brooke Whiting House. Every detail brought the night to life… live jazz, Charleston dancing, a tarot reader, incredible food and so much more.

I somehow found myself in the most fun role of the evening… announcing each guest and party as they arrived. Hearing the room shift and watching faces light up the moment their names were called… that was the magic for me.

Grateful for nights that bring people together like this and remind me how much joy lives in shared experience.
