Poor health habits will likely leave you running on empty, exhausted, and overwhelmed.

Yes, this will be the case even if you're doing all the "right" Christian things.

Why? Because God designed us with limitations - we need rest, food, movement, and more to sustain the quality of our life.

If you're running on empty, take an honest look at your habits and ask "Am I stewarding my health well?". If not, there is grace and an invitation to start today.

Start by eating 1 clean meal a day. That's it.

God designed us to primarily eat real foods so we can have energy and the ability to tackle life's demands.

If you aren't doing this consistently (80% or more) then you need to be focusing on this daily rather than trying to overhaul your diet.

This meal should have be 1/2 the plate of produce (fruits/veggies), 1/4 of protein, and the last 1/4 mix between starch and fat. You could always add a little extra protein to feel more satiated.

Yes, this is a general prescription but will have a great impact on how you feel regardless of your goals.

All things "health" (healthy relationships, healthy physique, healthy view of yourself, healthy internal life, etc stem from the Source of health, God. It's by His grace and power anything flourishes.

This is the starting point of becoming truly healthy. All of our curriculum begins here.

Start by asking God "What is health? Why did you create it?" "Am I pursuing Your version of health?" Then listen.

The solution for you to stop hating or obsessing over your body is to allow God's truth about it to reshape how you think. To recognize that the pursuit of getting the perfect body is a never ending cycle that does nothing for your soul. Because it wasn't supposed to.

Then you can begin to actively steward what He has given you well.

Question to think on: am I viewing my body the way God does?

The 7 Habits of Health is our way of participating in Jesus' invitation to be made new each day.

They will help reduce some of the biggest struggles in life like lack of purpose, anxiety, lack of energy, obesity, and more.

The 7 habits are:

1. Abide Daily
2. Sleep Well
3. Eat Clean
4. Move Often
5. Increase Clarity
6. Decrease Stress
7. Cultivate Community

These alone cannot form us into the image of Jesus. But they are our way of doing we can to make room for God to do what only He can.

3 ways to easily improve your sleep quality

1. Prime your environment - keep that room cool, dark and quiet

2. Keep it consistent - aim to keep bedtime and wake time within a 30-60 minute window most of the time

3. Minimize stimulants - stop drinking coffee late in the day and staring at screens / work until you go to bed. Let your brain wind down
