Such a fun staff night at the Sharks game for PACE’s Autism Awareness Night! 🦈💙
We loved spending time together (and with our families!) while celebrating inclusion and community. The sensory room, goody bags, and thoughtful supports like headphones, fidgets, and earplugs made the night accessible for everyone.

And the best part… our message made it onto the Jumbotron! 🙌✨Grateful for nights like these with an amazing team.

🌟 Welcome to the Team, Katelyn! 🌟
We are so excited to welcome Katelyn, our newest Occupational Therapist joining the Development is Child’s Play! Cupertino location!

Katelyn brings a warm, child-centered approach, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for helping kids develop confidence in their daily occupations. We’re thrilled for the families at our Cupertino site to get to know her, and we can already tell she’ll be such a positive addition to our growing team.

Play is the work of childhood—and sometimes the best therapy tools are already on the playground. 🌈

During push-in OT services at one of our preschool partners in Burlingame, we used materials already in the outdoor play area to build a simple obstacle course. Balance stones, hoops, chalk paths, and stepping targets created a playful challenge that supported:

• Dynamic balance
• Motor planning (praxis)
• Bilateral coordination
• Body awareness & spatial awareness
• Endurance and postural control

When the environment invites movement, the nervous system gets exactly what it needs to organize and learn.

✨ It doesn’t have to be complicated to be powerful.

Missed the Super Bowl posting window… but I think we found next year’s draft pick 🏈😆

Activities like this challenge coordination between both sides of the body, visual-motor integration (foot–eye), timing, agility, and motor planning. All while integrating the love of the game!

When movement is hard, it doesn’t just show up physically.

Kids may look clumsy, frustrated, avoidant, or hesitant to try new activities — especially with peers.

Physical Therapy helps kids feel capable in their bodies, which often improves confidence, willingness to try, and participation in play.

Two weeks. Tons of movement. A whole lot of fun! 🥇

Our DICP Olympic Events have brought the energy the past few weeks! Obstacle courses, teamwork, friendly competition, and kids showing off skills they’ve been working so hard on. It’s pretty cool to see what happens when you mix creativity, confidence, and a little bit of Olympic spirit ✨

And none of this magic happens without our dream team! Huge shoutout to OT Kerry and PT Stephanie. The planning, energy, thought, and heart you put into the details shows. This clinic is better because of you!

So proud of our athletes and so grateful for our DICP team.
