RABIES CONFIRMED IN RANDOLPH COUNTY

The Georgia Department of Public Health has confirmed that a raccoon from Randolph County tested positive for Rabies on September 22.

This is an important reminder to make sure your pets are current on their rabies vaccinations. Rabies is a fatal disease, but vaccination is highly effective at protecting our pets and also helps protect our families and community.

🐾 Please take a moment to check your pet’s rabies vaccination status. If your dog or cat is overdue—or if you aren’t sure when they are due—give us a call 229-732-2215. We’ll be happy to check their records and help get them up to date.

If your pet has known contact with a raccoon, bat, fox, or other wild animal, please contact us right away, even if your pet is currently vaccinated as a booster is still recommended.

Keeping our pets vaccinated is one of the most important things we can do to protect them from rabies. ❤️

We are excited to announce the addition of a new associate to our practice. Dr. Abbie Otto will be joining us starting Monday, May 11th.

Dr. Otto earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine this May. Prior to veterinary school, she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Columbus State University.

Many of our clients have already had the pleasure of meeting Abbie as she has worked at Cuthbert Critter Care since 2020 as a veterinary assistant.

She has had the dream of becoming a veterinarian since a young age, and believes that God has truly blessed her in fulfilling this goal.

Dr. Otto has two pets of her own, Kash and Birdie. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her pets, friends, and family.
