Honored to give grand rounds at Harvard MGB Plastic Surgery and Harvard BIDMC Plastic Surgery. Many thanks to Justin Broyles for the invitation and to Dr Andrea Pusic, Bernard Lee, Kyle Eberlin, Amy Colwell, and Dr. Kavitha Ranganathan for such a warm welcome. I spoke on the business and leadership essentials in plastic surgery; topics that I believe are increasingly important as we prepare the next generation of plastic surgeons for successful and meaningful careers, regardless of their practice setting. I also enjoyed spending time with the brilliant resident and fellows for a surgical teaching session, sharing technical pearls from my preservation high-SMAS deep plane face and neck lift, including advanced deep neck work and submandibular gland management. Thank you to the harvard_plast_surg residents and fellows for the engaging discussions and thoughtful questions. The future of plastic surgery is indeed very bright!

Breast augmentation with no implants? Yes!
Our patient had 16 year old ruptured implants and she was experiencing discomfort and sagging. She was ready to remove her implants and wanted a lighter, more natural look while restoring her breasts to a more youthful position.

Dr. Basu performed an implant removal and removal of her old capsules and restored her volume using her own fat (fat transfer) with a full mastopexy (lift) to create beautiful, natural-looking shape and balance. She is just 4 weeks post-op and already loving her new look. Results will continue to settle and evolve as she heals.

Procedure: 1. Removal of ruptured implants with capsulectomies
2. Revisional mastopexy
3. Revisional breast augmentation with fat transfer (no implants)
