❤️ It's a pattern we see all the time: the TV volume creeps up a few notches at a time, or a spouse mentions "you've been saying 'what?' a lot lately," long before the person with hearing loss notices it themselves. Gradual change is hard to catch in the mirror.

If someone close to you has gently brought this up more than once, take it as the nudge it's meant to be, not a criticism.

👂 Ear infections are so common in young kids that it's easy to treat them as a routine part of childhood — and most of the time they are. But repeated infections can cause temporary hearing loss right during the months a child is learning language fastest.
