Please join us in welcoming Dr. Mazin Shaikhoun to our team! 🎉
Dr. Shaikhoun is a triple board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine, and he brings a truly global perspective to patient care. His training has taken him across several countries, giving him the ability to connect with patients of all backgrounds with empathy and genuine cultural understanding.
He earned his medical degree from Al-Neelain University School of Medicine in Khartoum, Sudan, completed his Internal Medicine residency at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, and finished a fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at Albany Medical College in New York — where he was named "Fellow Teacher of the Year" for 2024–2025! 🏆

Dr. Shaikhoun specializes in acute and chronic lung diseases and is skilled in advanced bronchoscopy procedures.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Maaz Sheikh to our team! 🎉

Dr. Sheikh is coming home to Gwinnett County, and we couldn't be more excited. A metro Atlanta native raised in Duluth, he's a graduate of Mercer University and earned his medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Stony Brook Hospital in New York, then worked as a hospitalist with NYU and Mount Sinai before finishing a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Penn State Health.

Dr. Sheikh is ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine and board eligible in Critical Care Medicine. He cares for all aspects of pulmonary conditions — and now he's bringing that expertise back home to serve his community.

We're thrilled to welcome Dr. Cynthia Anunobi to our Pulmonary Team!
Dr. Anunobi is a board-trained Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine physician who brings an impressive background in advanced respiratory and critical care to our practice and our community.
Her journey includes earning her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, completing her Internal Medicine residency at the Medical College of Georgia, and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System.
Dr. Anunobi brings expertise in managing wide range of conditions, including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and acute respiratory failure, among others. Whether in the hospital or the outpatient clinic, she is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Anunobi is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians — a reflection of her commitment to advancing the field she loves.

These smiles make my heart so full! 😊

One of my favorite traditions at our Pulmonary and Sleep practice is our quarterly employee appreciation events. Every three months, our entire team from all locations gets together—everyone paid for the day, no matter their position—to just have FUN.

This spring, we had a blast! Whether it's laser tag, pickleball, or bowling, these events give our team a chance to let their inner child come out and play. The serious professional facade melts away, and we get to see the playful, fun-loving spirit in each other.

It's amazing what happens when people feel free to laugh, compete, be silly, and simply enjoy the moment together. Those connections and that joy carry back into our workplace, and it shows in the incredible care our team provides to every patient.

What I love most is the positive energy that follows. It transforms our workplace and reminds us why we're grateful to work alongside such wonderful people.
