🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHAELA!

Today we’re celebrating our Office Manager, Michaela! 🤍

Michaela has been with us since day one. She’s been here through the growth, the changes, the milestones, the memories, and of course, plenty of chaos along the way. As our Office Manager and unofficial chaos coordinator, she’s been a familiar part of Dunes Derm through every chapter.

There’s something pretty special about having someone who has been here since day one and has watched us become what it is today.

Thank you, Michaela, for all you do and for all the years you’ve given to Dunes Dermatology. We hope you know how appreciated you are!! Not just today, but all year long.

Join us in wishing Michaela the happiest of birthdays! We hope you had the best day 🫶🏼🎂✨

The part of healthcare patients don’t always get to see. 🤍

Sometimes a patient leaves the office, but they don’t necessarily leave our minds.

We wonder how they’re healing. We remember the story they told us at their last appointment. We look forward to seeing their name on the schedule. And when someone who is usually there doesn’t show up, we notice—and sometimes we worry.

Over time, appointments turn into familiar faces. We hear about children and grandchildren, new adventures and old memories. We celebrate good news, sit beside people through difficult news, and get the privilege of knowing a little piece of their lives.

They may come to us because of their skin, but somewhere along the way, we start caring about so much more than that.

Our patients probably don’t realize how often they make us laugh, brighten a long day, or leave an impression that follows us long after they walk out the door.

Taking care of people is the job.
Getting to know them is the gift. 🤍

August is Hair Loss Awareness Month 🤍

Noticing more hair than usual in your brush or shower can be alarming, but some shedding is a normal part of the hair growth cycle. Most people naturally lose around 50–100 hairs each day.

What’s more important is noticing a change from your normal. Increased shedding, a widening part, a thinner ponytail, bald patches, or more visible scalp can all be signs that something else may be going on.

Hair loss can happen for many reasons, including genetics, stress, illness, hormonal changes, certain medications, nutritional deficiencies, and other medical conditions. Sometimes, the trigger can even occur months before the shedding begins.

And while it’s tempting to reach for a new shampoo, vitamin, or trending product, hair loss isn’t one-size-fits-all. Identifying the type of hair loss — and what may be causing it is an important part of finding the right treatment.

If you’ve noticed a significant or persistent change in your hair, consider scheduling an evaluation with a dermatology provider. 🤍

Hair loss is common, but you don’t have to simply live with it.

Sometimes one opportunity can mean more than we realize. 🤍

Dunes Dermatology is proud to support the FTS Foundation as a Send a Girl to Camp Sponsor, helping two girls attend an upcoming FTS camp.

What starts as a day on the court or field can become confidence, friendships, leadership, and memories that stay with a girl long after the game is over.

Celebrating 5 Years of Dunes Dermatology 🥹🫶🏼✨

Five years ago, we opened our doors with the hope of making a difference in the lives of our patients and our community.

None of this would have been possible without you.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’d love to hear your story. What first brought you to Dunes Dermatology, and what has kept you coming back over the years? 🤍

Your stories are the greatest reminder of why we do what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your care, for recommending us to your family and friends, and for allowing us to be part of your healthcare journey.
