Travis Herald, DPT, is a physical therapist and regional director of operations practicing out of Daleville Physical Therapy. Travis graduated from Bridgewater College, then Methodist University with his clinical doctorate. He has certifications in dry needling and spinal manipulation and enjoys treating all patient demographics, with a particular interest in treating recreational athletes and diagnosis and treatment of the painful shoulder. He has two young children with his wife, Shannon, and enjoys spending time with family, camping, weightlifting, and being outdoors.

Cortisone injections can be a powerful tool for reducing inflammation and relieving pain, but they’re not a standalone solution. Without proper follow-up care, the relief they provide is often temporary. That’s where physical therapy becomes essential.

When pain is reduced after an injection, patients are often better able to participate fully in therapy. This creates a window of opportunity to rebuild function more effectively and with less discomfort.
