There’s nothing quiet about the life of a working mom in healthcare but in these small, tender moments I’m reminded exactly why I push through every long shift, every hard day, every sacrifice.

I didn’t stop dreaming when she was born. I started dreaming louder because now she’s watching.

To every nurse, nurse practitioner, and healthcare worker, every working mom doing it all and still showing up, your daughter sees you. She sees the strength, the love, the woman who never quits.

That’s the story we’re writing. Every. Single. Day.

Happy Anniversary to the man who never once let me believe I could not do it. 🥹

When the nights were long and the doubt was loud you were louder. When I wanted to quit you handed me my textbooks and told me to keep going. When I could not see the finish line you never stopped pointing to it.

You did not just support my dreams. You protected them.

And now look at what we built together. A partnership, a family. A legacy that started with us and now extends beyond us.

To the world you are my husband. To me you are the reason I never gave up on becoming the woman I always knew I could be.

Happy anniversary mi amor. Every degree, every patient, every milestone you are part of it all 🩺💕

Rich because I have the privilege of making people feel better every day. Rich because my daughter calls me mama. Rich because no one can ever take these degrees from me. Rich because I am a Latina who was told it was impossible and did it anyway.

I have sat in rooms where people doubted me. I have heard the words “that is too much” and “that is not realistic” more times than I can count. I have been underestimated, overlooked, and dismissed but I showed up anyway. Every single time.

Because I was not just doing it for me. I was doing it for every patient who needed someone who looked like them. For every little girl who would one day sit in my waiting room and see herself for the first time. And for her the one who calls me mama and will never have to wonder if she is capable of anything.

This is my wealth and it is overflowing.

Save this for the day someone tries to tell you it is too much. Let it remind you of exactly how far impossible can take you.

Describe your job but make it illegal. Because from the outside looking in I stick needles in people, take their blood, squeeze their body parts, and ask deeply personal question and they actually schedule their next appointment before they leave 😂

But in all seriousness that trust? I never take it for granted. Not for a single second.
Every patient who sits in my chair is trusting me with the most personal thing they have their body and their health and I show up for that with everything I have every single day. 🩺

Primary care is not just a specialty. It is a relationship and I am honored to be your Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner.
