What is ADHD?
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder. This means that symptoms usually start in childhood and persist in adulthood.
The symptoms usually consist of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. While some people can have all these symptoms, others may have predominantly inattentive, hyperactive or impulsive behaviors.
It is important to note that symptoms begin in childhood, interfere with daily life, such as social relationships, academic or work performance.
How is ADHD diagnosed?
To diagnosis ADHD across the lifespan, a comprehensive evaluation in addition to evidence-based ADHD screening tools should be used to provide a diagnosis.
