Allow yourself the grace to simply be you.

So many of us become consumed by being parents, students, employees, neighbors, friends, and caregivers that we lose sight of who we are beneath those titles. We become so focused on meeting expectations and showing up for everyone else that our true identity, desires, and joy get pushed to the background.

Allowing yourself to exist in your raw, authentic energy outside of your titles, responsibilities, and talents is healing. It nurtures the inner child who just wants to experience life without pressure.

Not every moment has to be productive, performative, or centered around the next goal. Give yourself 30 minutes to an hour each day, or even one day each week, to do something that brings you joy with no audience and no expectations.

One of my favorite things to do is turn on music and dance around my kitchen like no one is watching. In those moments, I allow myself to be free. Free from judgment, opinions, expectations, and pressure. And each time I do, I feel a little lighter, a little more connected to myself, and a little freer.
