🌪️ Vertigo, Dizziness & The Missing Link: Could Your Nervous System Be Out of Balance? 🧠⚖️

When most people think of vertigo, they think of the inner ear. 👂 But balance is actually controlled by a team effort between your inner ear, eyes, brain, spine, and nervous system.

Your brain relies on accurate information from all of these systems to keep you upright and oriented. When the nervous system becomes stressed, overwhelmed, or imbalanced, those signals can become distorted—leading to dizziness, spinning sensations, balance problems, brain fog, nausea, and even motion sensitivity. 🤢🌪️😵‍💫

An overactive “fight-or-flight” nervous system 🚨 can make it even harder for the brain to process sensory information efficiently, creating the perfect environment for vertigo symptoms to persist.

That’s why at Revolution Chiropractic, we don’t guess—we test. ✅ Using advanced neurological scans including:
📈 Surface EMG (sEMG) to measure nervous system stress and muscle tension
❤️ Heart Rate Variability (HRV) to assess adaptability and autonomic balance
🌡️ Thermography to evaluate how the nervous system is communicating throughout the body

These objective assessments help us identify patterns of nervous system dysregulation that may be contributing to dizziness, balance challenges, and other symptoms.

By improving communication between the brain and body and helping regulate the nervous system, many patients experience improvements in:
✨ Balance & coordination
✨ Dizziness & vertigo symptoms
✨ Brain fog
✨ Motion sensitivity
✨ Overall resilience to stress
🌟 Sometimes the key to finding your balance isn’t just in your ears—it’s in your nervous system.

📲 If you’ve been struggling with dizziness, vertigo, or unexplained balance issues, call or text 972.599.7064 or send us a message to schedule a consultation to see how a neurological scan could help uncover what’s really going on beneath the surface.

🎯 ADHD isn’t just about attention… It’s about energy efficiency in the brain.

Most parents are told that ADHD is simply a problem with focus.

But, what is the real issue is that your child’s brain is working WAY harder than it should just to get through the day?

🧠 Think about your child’s nervous system like the electrical system in your home. When the wiring is stressed, overloaded, or not communicating efficiently, things don’t work the way they were supposed to.

The same thing can happen in a child’s nervous system. That’s why we perform a surface EMG (sEMG) scan.

Just like an EKG measures the electrical activity of the heart and an EEG measures the electrical activity of the brain, an sEMG allows us to objectively measure the electrical activity and tension within muscles that protect the spine and nervous system.

What are we looking for?
⚡️ Is the nervous system stuck in “fight-or-flight” mode?
⚡️ is the brain burning excessive energy just to maintain posture and basic function?
⚡️ is there neurological stress interfering with focus, attention, emotional regulation, and behavior?

Many children with ADHD, sensory challenges, anxiety, or behavioral struggles show signs of excessive neurological stress and muscle activity along the spine.

When the nervous system expending energy surviving, there’s often less energy available for:
✅ Focus
✅ Learning
✅ Emotional regulation
✅ Executive function
✅ Social interaction

A more regulated nervous system doesn’t mean your child becomes a different child. It means their brain may be able to function more efficiently, adapt to stress better, and use energy where it’s needed most.

That’s why we don’t guess…we test.

⚡ What if we told you your nervous system could actually be measured?

Most people know:🫀 An EKG measures the electrical activity of your HEART.🧠 An EEG measures the electrical activity of your BRAIN.

But did you know your nervous system can also be objectively tested?

That’s where EMG comes in.

EMG (electromyography) helps measure the electrical activity happening along the muscles and nervous system pathways connected to your spine.

At our office, we don’t want to guess. Because symptoms only tell part of the story.
Someone can feel:❌ Stressed❌ Exhausted❌ Anxious❌ Tight❌ Overstimulated❌ In pain
…but the bigger question is WHY?

Your nervous system controls and coordinates every function in the body.

When stress accumulates—physical stress, chemical stress, emotional stress—it can create patterns of tension and altered communication throughout the nervous system. That’s why we use objective neurological testing.

Our scans help us look at things like:⚡ Muscle activation patterns⚡ Stress adaptation⚡ Symmetry and balance⚡ How efficiently your nervous system may be communicating

Think of it like checking the dashboard before working on the engine.
Because better input → better output.
We don’t just want you feeling better…We want to understand how your nervous system is functioning.

There is a reason. There is a cause.

What if your child’s nervous system was dealing with stress long before their first steps… Or even their first breath?

Many parents are surprised to learn that there are three major stressors that can impact a developing nervous system from the very beginning:
👉 Maternal stress
Mom’s physical, emotional, and chemical stressors can influence the developing baby.

👉 Birth stress
Even under the best circumstances, birth is physically demanding. Interventions such as C-sections, forceps, vacuum extraction, inductions, prolonged labor, or other forms of assisted delivery can create additional stress on a newborns delicate nervous system.

👉 Chemical stress
From medication’s and epidurals during pregnancy and birth to early exposure to formulas, environmental toxins, processed foods, and other chemical stressors, a growing child’s nervous system is constantly receiving information and adapting to environment

The nervous system controls and coordinates every function in the body – from sleep, digestion, and immune function to emotional regulation, focus, behavior and development.

When the nervous system becomes overwhelmed by physical, chemical, and emotional stress, it can shift into a state of imbalance and stress adaptation. Overtime, that can affect how the brain and body communicate. Think… Gas pedal no brake pedal

A well-regulated nervous system helps children adapt better, function better, and thrive!

No, it’s not just bad luck. It’s not just bad genes.

WHY are we so quick to medicate the OUTPUT while ignoring the INPUT that may be driving at all? ⚠️

The brain and nervous system are designed to constantly communicate through precise sensory input. But when chronic stress, tension, and neurological interference, disrupt that communication, the body can shift into survival mode.

That’s when we start seeing:
😫 Anxiety
💥 Dysautonomia
🧠 Brain fog
😴 Sleep issues
❤️ Increased stress responses
⚡️ Emotional dysregulation
🪫 Exhaustion and burnout

And, one of the biggest players in this conversation? The vagus nerve.

when the nervous system is overwhelmed and stuck in sympathetic dominance, healthy, vagal function can decrease - making it harder for the body to regulate, adapt, heal, and feel calm.

MAYBE THE REAL QUESTION ISN’T:
“ How do we suppress the symptoms?”

MAYBE IT’S:
“What is causing the brain and nervous system to stay stuck in the stress mode in the first place?” 👀

This is why neurologically focused chiropractic care looks deeper - not just at symptoms, but at nervous system dysfunction, stress patterns, and communication within the body.

Because better INPUT creates better OUTPUT.

Adjusting the nervous system changes the brain. 🧠

Ready to find answers? If you don’t measure the nervous system, how do you know what changes and impacts you’re making to it?!

Guess what we suggest measuring… Yup, nervous system.

Instead of treating dysfunction and output issues (symptoms) we measure and make changes to affect the input (cause).

Better input = Better output

Neurodegenerative OUTPUT issues:
👉🏼 ADHD
👉🏼 Autism
👉🏼 Sensory Processing
👉🏼 POTS
👉🏼 PANDAS
👉🏼 etc.

Most healthcare focuses on treating symptoms.

Headache? Take something for the pain.
Anxiety? Calm the feeling.
Digestive issues? Manage the stomach.

But symptoms are often just poor OUTPUT from a stressed and dysregulated nervous system.

And, poor output almost always starts with poor INPUT.

Your brain and nervous system are constantly processing input from your environment, your emotions, your posture, your movement, inflammation, toxins, stress, screens, lack of sleep, trauma, and sensory overload. Wow… Kind of overwhelmed just from thinking about that!!!

When input becomes overwhelming or distorted, the nervous system shifts into stress mode.

That’s when dysfunction and dysregulation begin.

And eventually… symptoms show up.
~Anxiety
~ADHD struggles
~Sleep struggles
~Digestive issues
~Chronic tension
~Fatigue
~Sensory challenges
~Emotionally overwhelmed

The symptom isn’t usually the root problem.
It’s the signal that the nervous system is no longer adapting well.

You can choose symptoms forever…
OR, you can address the neurological stress patterns creating them in the first place.

Real healing happens when the nervous system feels safe, regulated, and adaptable again 🍃

99/100 healthy newborn deliveries found at least one somatic dysfunction.

—> Restriction causing impaired or altered function of the body

Why do we see so many babies and kiddos? Because somatic dysfunction can lead to a sympathetically driven nervous system which causes the brain to get stuck in fight-or-flight mode.

You can’t be in growth and protection at the same time.

👉🏼A stressed nervous system leads to a stressed brain.
👉🏼A stressed brain leads to a change in output and dysfunction in parts of the body.
👉🏼Then, we see symptoms.

🤯Treat the nervous system, change the brain.
🤯Change the brain, improve the output.
🤯Improve the output, less dysfunction and symptoms.

Nervous System Overload: The Real Root Cause. Is it anxiety or an overstimulated nervous system? Can it be both?!

https://youtu.be/QIumPkbdIdc Check out full interview here.

When the brain takes in more sensory input than it can process, the nervous system becomes overwhelmed. The overload often shows up as:
✔️Anxiety
✔️Big emotions
✔️Sensory sensitivities
✔️Trouble calming down

Continued overload (causing sympathetic overdrive) can lead to:
☑️ ADHD
☑️ OCD
☑️ Emetophobia
☑️ Sensory Processing Disorder

At Revolution Chiropractic in Dallas/Plano, we focus on the root cause – the nervous system.

Using advanced INSiGHT scans, we can see how your body and nervous system are handling stress and where there may be imbalance. From there, gentle, neurologically-focused chiropractic care helps the brain and nervous system shift out of fight-or-flight, and into a calmer, more regulated state.

✨You (or your child) aren’t broken - but overwhelmed. And, there’s a better way to help.
