For the past few years, I’ve been carrying a quiet dream.
Many of you have known me as a Chiropractor, but behind the scenes I’ve been walking a path that has stretched me, humbled me, and changed me in ways I could have never imagined.
I chose to keep this journey mostly quiet.
Not because I wasn’t excited, but because some things are too sacred to announce before they’ve had the chance to transform you. My old friend Arno taught me to keep my cards close to my heart and let change speak for itself.
I wanted to become before I spoke about becoming.
Today, with a heart overflowing with gratitude, I can finally share that I am officially a Licensed Midwife.
Over the last several years, I’ve had the extraordinary privilege of witnessing women birth their babies. Looking back, I realize there was another birth happening at the same time.
I have been in labor, birthing a midwife.
Not simply adding letters behind my name, but allowing this calling to shape me from the inside out.
This journey has asked more of me than I ever imagined. Years of study. Thousands of apprenticeship hours. Countless births. Sleepless nights. Early mornings. Tears. Joy. Doubt. Wonder. Surrender. And an ever-deepening reverence for women, babies, families, and the Innate wisdom woven into and flowing through birth.
Birth changes everyone it touches.
It births mothers.
It births fathers.
It births families.
And if we allow it, it births something new within us, too.
To every mother who entrusted me with her birth, and every baby who became one of my greatest teachers...
Thank you.
This wasn’t just my journey, it was ours.
Midwifery doesn’t feel like arriving somewhere new. It feels like another expression of the work I’ve always been called to do; to honor the wisdom of women, protect the sacredness of birth and walk beside families through one of their most profound moments.
My heart is incredibly full.
Here’s to the journey.
To the becoming.
To the women who trusted me.
To the babies who changed me.
To the people who never stopped believing in me.
And to the quiet dreams that are worth protecting until they’re ready to be born.
With deep gratitude and love,
Autumn
