My name is Kelsey Bault and I have been involved with horses since the year 2000. I got my first horse when I was 8, started my first horse when I was 13, and have been going strong ever since. I have always had a thirst for knowledge and a desire to help horses. Equine Sports Therapy is something that has been in my soul for a long, long time. Why did I wait until I was 30 to make it official? On

ly God knows the answer to that question. When I graduated high school, I had plans to become an equine sports therapist. I wanted to help horses feel better, I wanted to be involved in rehab and conditioning. My grandma even arranged a tour of Pegasus Equine in Redmond, WA (SUPER cool place, by the way). Unfortunately, the plans of an 18 year old got derailed. I didn’t know how to become what I wanted to be as I got sucked into the college and career rat race that was preached to me. Financial security became more important than chasing the dream of an 18 year old girl. I had many a conversation with a friend who was in the field already while standing in the barn for hours, watching her work. I admired her hunger for knowledge and the effort she put into being the best. I always thought to myself, if I ever take the leap, that’s exactly how I want to do it. I didn’t want to just go buy a machine, slap it on some horses and call it good. I’m the same with training my horses, if I expect them to have a good foundation, I should expect the same for myself. So, after always keeping this idea simmering at the back of my mind over the years, I could no longer ignore that pull I kept feeling. I attended massage school in January of 2023 and received my certification as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist from Equissage California. Certifications/Completed Courses

One run. We made one freaking run. And then this happened.

I didn't see it happen but I'm 90% positive that Blitz kicked Stella in the stifle Thursday evening.

I'm sure grateful for the tools & knowledge I've acquired over the last couple years but I wish I didn't have to use them on my own horses 🙄

1st photo is about 18 hours after the injury
2nd photo is about 18 hours after red light, cold hose, and ktape.

She's resting her foot in both photos.

I've also been using CEP Xtreme Relief for pain management.

She's moving much better this morning than she was yesterday. I'm hoping everything is fine but I'll likely be scheduling an appointment to get some imaging done just to make sure all is well since the stifle is such a complicated joint with all kinds of things that can go wrong.

Yay horses! 🙄😒😭

Spent an extra day in Canada and all I got was a picture with a patella 😜

⬆️ That's a lie. I also officially had some Tim Horton's.

Not to mention the extra hours of chatting with and . Learning how they manage their herd on a beautiful track system, helping check on a composting horse skeleton, helping integrate a new member of their herd, and just plain ol' bonding with fellow therapists that want the best for the phenomenal creatures we all love.

I wish it wasn't a 6.5 drive + a border crossing because you can bet I'd be there so often they'd be sick of me if they were closer.

Miss you, ladies!

Do you want the opportunity to win a free bodywork session? Keep reading to find out how ⬇️

I need to do 2 case studies to fully complete my craniosacral training. Since I need to take my time on these, I don't want to do them during a regular session. So, I'm going to pick 2 winners to receive a free haul in bodywork session at my barn in Dallas, OR.

All you have to do to be considered is like this post and leave a comment. I'll pick the winners on June 10th. I'll give you an extra entry if your comment makes me laugh 😜

This is a great podcast explaining osteopathy and it's governing principles. If you feel like you've been beating your head against a wall and not finding any answers, this is a good one to listen to.

I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to learn from EQ Therapeutics! Learning these principles has changed the way I approach bodywork.

What if the reason your horse’s issue keeps coming back… has nothing to do with the “tight muscles” that keep getting treated?

I recently sat down with Sam on the for one of the deepest conversations I’ve had publicly in a long time.

We unpacked:

* Why structure governs function
* The science behind spinal facilitation and chronic compensation patterns
* Why “tight” does not always mean “short”
* How the nervous system can keep the body stuck in protective patterns long after the original injury
* Why gut inflammation can show up as chronic back pain and behavioural changes
* Why fluid flow is foundational to healing
* The difference between chasing symptoms vs. understanding systems
* Why some horses do not need more bodywork… they need different management, movement, environment, or rehabilitation strategies

We had a very honest conversation about what osteopathy is (and isn’t), rehabilitation, and the importance of looking at the horse as an integrated biological system rather than isolated body parts.

If you have ever found yourself thinking:

“Why does this keep coming back?”

….this episode is probably for you.

This is definitely one of the more science-heavy conversations I’ve done, but also one of the most important.

18 months ago, I met Elisse & Angie at a whole horse dissection. The wealth of knowledge they had about the equine body and how it functions blew me away. I was in awe of their passion.

6 weeks later I attended their presentation during the NBCAAM virtual conference and learned about the Osteopathic approach to craniosacral Therapy. It felt like the a potential answer to a lot of questions I had. Then I learned that they offered certification courses. 2 months after that I was on a Zoom call with Angie trying to decide which course to start with.

A year, several live webinars, 2 trips to Canada and lots of hands on lots of horses later, I am fundamentally changed as a bodyworker. I've officially completed the training and exams for Osteopathic Craniosacral Therapy.

I had an inkling when I met these two wonderful ladies that they would change my life but I don't think I realized how it would happen. The joy both Elisse and Angie find in teaching others is unmatched. Having the opportunity to lay hands on horses with their expertise guiding me was a phenomenal experience.

Thank you both for sharing your hearts, your home, and your horses. I'm honored to have had the opportunity. Hopefully, I'll see you again soon ❤️
