Labor Day weekend means one more long weekend for gardens, trails and time outside.

And poison ivy season definitely isn’t over yet. One of the things I’ve always found fascinating about jewelweed is that you’ll often find it growing in the same areas as poison ivy, often right nearby.

I make my Organic Jewelweed Salve by first infusing jewelweed into oil, then using that botanical infusion to create the finished salve. It’s one of those little tins I like to keep close during the outdoor months.

Pumpkin spice is starting to make its way back into the apothecary… but don’t worry, fall is much bigger than pumpkin spice around here.

There are cozy teas, warm spices, herbs, apples, autumn botanicals and all sorts of seasonal things beginning to make their way onto my worktable.

Some will be pumpkin. Plenty will not.

Either way, I’m getting pretty excited about what I’m making for fall this year.

Apparently Augustween is a thing now… and I need to know where everyone stands.

It’s still August. It’s still summer. But there’s also a tiny part of me that’s ready for pumpkins, cozy things, fall teas and just a little more magic. ✨

And I’ll admit, a few fall things have already started appearing behind the scenes at the apothecary.

A little adventure outside the apothecary… 🧚‍♀️💜

A few weeks ago, my friend Jacki and I took a little road trip to Paradise Lavender Farm, and it was absolutely magical.

We wandered through the Enchanted Forest, hung out with the fairies (obviously), explored the sweetest little gift shop, met amazing new friends, and I came home with a few wonderfully magical fairy things that are already inspiring some ideas of my own. ✨ Stay tuned…

I also donated all four of my Enchanted Forest books to their little giving library, which felt like exactly where those stories were meant to land. Books filled with fairies and woodland magic, tucked into an actual enchanted forest.

And because apparently I cannot visit a lavender farm without bringing home another lavender plant… yes, one came home with me.

Such a lovely day of friendship, flowers and a little magic.

And I have a feeling some of that magic may be finding its way into the apothecary soon. ✨🧚‍♀️

Sometimes I get so caught up in the actual creating that I forget to stop and share what I’m doing along the way.

And lately, I’ve been creating a LOT.

There are jars on the counter, ideas scribbled everywhere, things steeping, things curing, things being tested… and more than a few new ideas that I’m really excited about.

So I’m going to try to do a better job of bringing you along while I’m making it all.
