Today we had the honor of celebrating the 9th Annual Black Breastfeeding Week event with DFW Black Maternal and Breastfeeding Collective and The Breast Choice Lactation Consultant Services! 💛

Seeing so many familiar faces made the day even sweeter! Every mama pictured has trusted our team to be part of her birth story and has delivered with either Midwife+Co or Fort Worth Birthing & Wellness Center. Watching these families continue to grow, connect, and support one another is such a special part of what we do.

is about celebration, but it also carries an important purpose. It creates space to center Black mothers, bring awareness to disparities in breastfeeding support and resources, and advocate for equitable, culturally responsive lactation and maternal care.

Every mother deserves to feel informed, supported, and heard throughout her feeding journey and building that support takes providers, families, advocates, and an entire community. 💕

Black Breastfeeding Week is about more than celebrating breastfeeding. It’s about making sure every family has the support and opportunity to reach their feeding goals.

For generations, Black families have faced inequities within maternal healthcare and breastfeeding support. Black Breastfeeding Week creates space to acknowledge those disparities while celebrating Black mothers, uplifting their experiences, and continuing the work toward more equitable, culturally responsive care.

As midwives, we believe education and support should begin long before a family is struggling and that every parent deserves to feel heard and empowered in the decisions they make for themselves and their baby. 💜

Amanda provides comprehensive childbirth education designed to help growing families feel informed, prepared, and empowered as they approach birth and postpartum—whether you’re planning to deliver at a hospital or birth center.

For our families in Weatherford, Willow Park, and the surrounding Parker County communities, this is an incredible resource to have close to home!

And can we talk about this chunky little guy?! 🥹 He was completely irresistible and got plenty of cuddles from our team at their postpartum visit.
