Had the honor of speaking at the Louisiana Obesity Society’s Annual Conference last week in New Orleans.
Rooms like this are why I love what I do. Every person in that audience — physicians, surgeons, researchers — showed up because they believe obesity deserves to be treated like the disease it is. Not a moral failing. Not a willpower problem. A disease with real, evidence-based treatment.
I got to talk about where this field is headed — the tools, the innovation, the science that keeps getting better every year. But honestly, the best part is always the conversations after. Hearing how other providers are showing up for their patients reminds me why I chose this path in the first place.
