If you have a teenager, you already know: they’ll open up to a friend, a coach, a stranger on the internet — anyone but us. 💙

That’s what makes teen depression and anxiety so hard to catch. They’re not going to sit us down and say “I feel down and I don’t know why.” So as parents, we have to pay closer attention.

Here’s a development worth knowing about: MeRT® / TMS is now FDA-cleared for ages 15 and up. For families, that matters — because so many teens resist medication. They don’t want to feel different, or “less than,” or carry the stigma of needing something.

This gives them another path:
→ Non-invasive and drug-free
→ Private — done right here in our clinic
→ No medication side effects to navigate, and nothing about their outward appearance changes

It’s not about replacing the conversations. It’s about giving your teen a real, personalized option to explore with a provider — one that meets them where they actually are.

Send this to a parent who’s been quietly worried about their teen.

Personalized brain health starts with your baseline — not the latest trend.

Supplements, peptides, the newest “brain hack”... it’s a lot, and it’s easy to feel like you’re behind if you’re not doing all of it.

Here’s what Dr. Miller tells patients: the smartest first move isn’t chasing what’s trending. It’s understanding what your brain actually needs. That’s the whole point of EEG-guided brain mapping — we look at your baseline first, then build care around you instead of a one-size-fits-all list.

Anxiety, focus, sleep, mood, burnout — they can all trace back to how your brain is regulating. Seeing that clearly is where real, personalized progress begins.

Brain supplements, peptides, and nootropics are everywhere right now 🧠—but more isn’t always better for your brain.

Before you add one more thing to the cart, Dr. Miller, a neurologist at Brain Treatment Center, wants you to ask a few questions first. Because the goal isn’t a fuller cabinet—it’s actually knowing what your brain needs.

That’s why we start with an EEG brain map. Instead of guessing which supplement, dose, or trend might help, we look at your brain’s real patterns and build a personalized plan from there.

Save this for your next order, and send it to the friend with the supplement shelf.

MeRT vs. traditional TMS — what’s actually different?

Same core technology. Both non-invasive, no anesthesia, no sedation. You sit in a chair and drive yourself home.

The difference is the plan.

Traditional rTMS uses a predefined protocol: most patients, same region, same frequency. It’s well-studied and FDA-cleared for major depressive disorder.

MeRT starts somewhere else entirely — with a quantitative EEG and an EKG, before any treatment begins. We’re looking for your brain’s intrinsic frequency, the rhythm it naturally runs on. It’s different for every person.

Then the protocol is built around what we find. And about a week in, we check again and adjust.

If you’ve already tried something that didn’t quite land, this is the conversation worth having.

Save this if you’re comparing options. Send it to someone who needs to see it.

If you’re in your 40s and suddenly feel wired, foggy, and overwhelmed — you’re not imagining it, and you’re not just “stressed.”

Perimenopause doesn’t only change your body. As estrogen and progesterone shift, they affect the brain systems that regulate sleep, mood, focus, and anxiety — which is why so many women feel like their brain suddenly betrayed them.

Swipe through for what can change, why it happens, and how personalized, non-invasive care can help.

At Brain Treatment Center, we use EEG brain mapping and MeRT to look at how your brain is actually functioning — because your symptoms deserve real answers, not a shrug.

Share this with a woman who keeps saying, “I don’t feel like myself.”

Some of the most exciting things in medicine happen when two treatments come together.

Our team’s pilot research found something worth talking about: delivering targeted nanoparticles alongside neuromodulation — like MeRT or neurofeedback — may reduce brain inflammation more than either approach can on its own.

Why does that matter? Inflammation in the brain is tied to so much of what people quietly struggle with — the brain fog, the low mood, the feeling that something’s just… off. Calming it at the source is a big deal.

Curious if it could be a fit for you? Reach out to Brain Treatment Center Dallas or Plano and we’ll help you find out. 🧠

Inflammation in the brain is showing up in more conversations around neurological health — and Dr. Miller is breaking down one of the emerging areas of research: exosomes.

Exosomes are tiny particles released by cells that help carry signals throughout the body. Researchers are actively studying their potential role in inflammation and tissue repair, including how they may interact with the brain.

Why does that matter? Neuroinflammation is associated with conditions and injuries including traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and autism — making this an important and rapidly evolving area of research.

At Brain Treatment Center, we believe in looking beyond symptoms and staying at the forefront of what science is teaching us about the brain.

Interested in learning more about exosomes and whether they may be appropriate to discuss with your provider?

When you’re parenting a child on the autism spectrum, it’s easy to keep reaching for the next thing that might help. But more supplements don’t always mean more support. Sometimes the most powerful step is pausing to ask better questions.

Before you add the next one, save these 5 questions to bring to your child’s provider:

1️⃣ What symptom are we actually trying to support? Start with the specific concern—sleep, regulation, focus, digestion, irritability—not a supplement without a clear goal.

2️⃣ Has your child’s provider checked for deficiencies or other medical factors? Understanding what may actually be going on should come before guessing.

3️⃣ Is there evidence behind it—or is it just trending online? “Popular” and “proven for your child” aren’t the same thing.

4️⃣ Could it interact with medications or other supplements? Always talk it through with your child’s healthcare provider before adding anything new.

5️⃣ Are we tracking changes clearly—or just guessing? If you can’t measure it, it’s hard to know if it’s working.

Your child deserves individualized support—not endless trial and error. That’s the heart of how we approach care at Brain Treatment Center across Dallas, Plano, and Fort Worth.

📌 Save this post and bring it to your child’s next appointment.
