As we prepare for the 41st Annual Educational Conference in Los Angeles, NAHSE chapters across the country are coming together to support two community organizations:

🍚 Magic Johnson Foundation – Faithful Central Church
Donate rice and broth to support local food assistance efforts.

🧴 Jenesse Domestic Violence Intervention Program
Donate toiletries and personal care essentials for individuals and families rebuilding their lives.

This is what leadership beyond the conference room looks like: service, compassion, and collective action.

Food insecurity is closer to home than many of us realize.

Across DFW, nearly 1.4 million people are experiencing food insecurity, including more than 506,000 children. And for many families, the challenge isn’t simply whether food is available. It’s the constant tradeoffs between food, transportation, housing, healthcare, and everything else it takes to keep a household moving.

That’s why Beyond the Plate: Turning Food Insecurity Awareness into Community Action is more than a conversation.

On September 24, we’re bringing our community together to learn, engage, and better understand the realities behind the numbers.

Awareness is the beginning. Action is the goal.
