Taking Care of the People Who Take Care of Others
At Maze of Life, supporting our clients starts with making sure our own team feels supported, too.
Behind the scenes, Courtney (Kai) has been creating simple, intentional opportunities for our team to check in with ourselves and with one another throughout the week.
On Mondays, her Monday Check-Ins encourage us to think about how we’re entering the week. What are we looking forward to? What do we want to make time for? What can we allow to be “good enough” instead of perfect? What are we ready to leave behind?
Our Wellness Wednesdays bring attention to our well-being through reflection, practical wellness exercises, and resources we can actually use in our everyday lives. We’ve also made wellness exercises and additional resource tools available to our community through the link in our bio.
Then come Thursday Reflections, when Courtney (Kai) invites us to look back at the week. What carried us through? What small habits supported us? What are we proud of? Where have we made progress that we may not have stopped long enough to recognize?
Courtney (Kai) also leads our Monthly Pulse Survey through Workforce Development. This quick, confidential and optional 1–2 minute internal check-in helps us understand how our team is doing, recognize emerging trends, strengthen communication, and identify areas where additional support may be helpful.
It may only take a few minutes to check in with someone. Those few minutes are valuable.
This is one of the ways we’re working to create a culture where the people doing the work feel seen, heard, connected and supported. When we take care of our team, we’re better equipped to bring our best selves to the individuals, families and communities who trust us to serve them.
Thank you, Courtney (Kai), for reminding us that wellness belongs in the way we work, too.
Guiding the Present to Empower the Future.
