Happy Independence Day!

For 250 years, America has been mission-driven, guided by principles and values that call us to serve, to innovate, and to build a better future together. In many ways, those same ideals are at the heart of Aveanna.

This Fourth of July, we'd like to thank our clinicians whose devotion helps increase our patients' independence and allows those we serve to thrive in the comfort of their own homes.

Congratulation to one of our newest Aveanna therapy graduates, Caylee!

Caylee came to Aveanna to work on her ability to communicate clearly. Working with SLP Nicole, she honed her phonology skills and built her expressive vocabulary.

Now, she can clearly express her needs to all of her caregivers and communicate better with her friends at school! We are so happy to see her bright smile and all the ways she'll continue to spread joy and positivity to those around her.

When Aveanna patient Addison first began therapy, feeding was challenging due to oral sensitivities, difficulty managing textures, limited chewing skills, and delays with drinking from a straw cup.

That's when SLP Brooke and her Aveanna team stepped in, providing the support Addison and her family needed to help her reach her feeding therapy goals.

Over the course of therapy, Addison made remarkable progress! She learned to tolerate oral stimulation, successfully advanced to thicker and more textured foods, developed tongue lateralization skills, mastered chewing soft solids, and learned to drink from a straw cup without distress. Most importantly, she gained confidence and comfort with eating so she can continue to grow and meet her milestones.

We are so proud of how far she has come and all that she has accomplished! Watching children reach their goals and gain independence is one of the greatest joys of what we do. Congratulations on graduating feeding therapy, Addison!

“Parenting a special needs child grounds you and puts what really matters into focus. My bond with Rosetta might look different from other fathers and daughters. But she’s taught me that love prevails no matter what we face.”

Over the last two decades, Steve and his wife have navigated the ups and downs of parenthood with their four children, two of whom live with special needs. Their youngest daughter, Rosetta, has shown Steve the depth of a parent’s love through every obstacle.

Rosetta lives with SCO1, an ultra-rare genetic condition that affects energy production and physical development. This rare disorder presents challenges with seizures and breathing, requiring 24/7 care and ongoing medical support. Rosetta and her family rely on private duty nursing services for stability, comfort, and peace of mind. Thanks to their Aveanna nurses, Steve can focus on what matters most: being Rosetta’s dad.

We're thrilled to celebrate Aveanna's newest speech therapy graduate, Calder!

Calder has been working with SLP Brooke for almost a year, and during that time, he has made incredible progress. He has mastered his expressive language goals and has grown from using gestures to now communicating with functional phrases and short sentences. Now, we're excited to cheer him on as he starts his next chapter.

While at Aveanna, one of Calder's favorite parts of therapy was playing with or reading about Lightning McQueen, so of course he had to join in on his graduation picture, too. We are so proud of you, Calder!
