This Labor Day, we celebrate something Scripture has affirmed from the beginning: work has purpose, and rest has value.

We are called to work with excellence, integrity, and a heart of service:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23

But we are also reminded that rest is not a lack of productivity. It is part of God’s design.

After creation, God rested. And throughout Scripture, we see a rhythm of faithful work and intentional renewal.

For leaders especially, that rhythm matters.

Work with purpose. Lead with excellence. Rest with trust.

This Labor Day, we are grateful for the people whose work strengthens our organizations, churches, ministries, schools, and communities—and for the gift of rest that prepares us to serve well again.
