Today Dr. Christy Chapman (TASP President) and Dr. Kassi Gregory (TASP President-Elect) had the opportunity for a collaborative lunch meeting as we prepare for Dr. Gregory to assume the presidential role in January. Every time we discuss different board roles, responsibilities and initiatives, it is a reminder of the hard and important work that is happening every day that is not always visible to our membership. In addition to attending board meetings and conventions, your TASP Executive Board is always hard at work behind the scenes, advocating for school psychologists across the state. Our Membership, Social Justice, Trainers, Awards & Honors, GPR, Shortage and Workforce and School Crisis and Safety Committee Chairs have ongoing initiatives and host regular meetings. Our Fall and Summer Convention Committee Chairs and committee members spend an entire year planning for a high quality experience for our membership. Our Professional Development and Technology Chairs really keep the wheels turning and are involved in almost everything that we do as a board. Area and grad students reps are out in their communities disseminating information and supporting school psychs on the ground. Our secretary, treasurers, Public Relations and Information Chair, Journal and Newsletter Chairs and NASP Delegate are steadily working to keep our finances and records in line and help disseminate information to the board and to our membership. Finally, our Past-President, President, and President-Elect commit 6 years in total serving in these roles supporting the organization as a whole and ensuring that the day-to-day operations and initiatives continue. Our board operates smoothly not because of one or two individuals, but because of a team of passionate school psychologists who volunteer so much of their time to this organization. I would just like to personally recognize the TASP Executive Board today, and thank each of you for your ongoing commitment to helping this organization grow and thrive. You are all incredible, and I am so thankful for you. We can’t wait to see ALL of our membership in Denton in November. Come and say hello!
