Are MRIs Safe?

Yes — MRI is generally considered very safe and, unlike X-rays and CT scans, does not use ionizing radiation.

MRI uses a powerful magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the body, making it an important tool for understanding what may be happening beneath the surface.

MRI may not be appropriate for everyone. Certain implanted devices, metal fragments, or medical conditions may require additional screening before your scan.
