One of the most cited verses in wellness culture is also one of the most misunderstood. 📖

Isaiah 40:31:
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint."

The Hebrew word for renew here is chalaph. It does not mean restore what was lost. It means exchange. Replace. Receive something new in its place.

Isaiah was not describing recovery.
He was describing transformation.

Modern cellular biology uses a similar concept: mitochondrial biogenesis. The process by which the body generates entirely new mitochondria in response to the right signals.
