For a long time, I thought peace would come when everything around me finally changed. 🤍
😥 When the anxiety stopped.
💔 When the past stopped hurting.
😔 When people stopped disappointing me.
✔️ When life finally felt predictable again.
But some of the biggest peace in my life came when I changed what I was willing to carry. 🕊️
🚫 Stopped drinking.
😣 Stopped numbing what needed to be felt.
✋🏼 Stopped giving people and situations unlimited access to my energy.
✌🏽Stopped looking for peace in the same things that kept stealing it.
Sobriety didn’t magically erase my past. It gave me the clarity to face it, the strength to move through it, and the freedom to stop letting it control my present. 💪🏼✨
And somewhere between choosing myself, getting stronger, letting go, and learning that protecting my peace isn’t selfish…I found what I had been looking for all along. 🖤
SOBER. ⚡️
STRONG. 💪🏼
MY PEACE. 🕊️
Sometimes peace isn’t about changing everything around you.
Sometimes it’s about changing what you allow to stay. ✨
What’s something you had to let go of to finally feel more at peace? 👇🏼
