Hydration isn’t just water — it’s electrolytes, and most “sports drinks” are loaded with sugar you don’t need. I keep it simple: sugar-free electrolytes, my go-to Quince hoodie + tennis skirt, and a routine that actually supports blood sugar balance instead of spiking it.

Comment BEST for more dietitian-approved food guides and healthy swaps.

Nut butters can be a great source of healthy fats, plant-based protein, and fiber, but some brands are loaded with added sugars, hydrogenated oils, and unnecessary fillers that don’t add nutritional value.

Flip the jar. The ingredient list should read “peanuts” or “peanuts, salt,” full stop. Anything with sugar, palm oil, or hydrogenated oil in the first three ingredients isn’t giving you the blood-sugar-friendly benefits you think you’re getting.

The best options keep it simple: just nuts (and maybe a little salt). They’re more satisfying, support steadier blood sugar, and make it easier to fuel your body without the extra ingredients.

And if you want the cheapest, cleanest option, don’t sleep on the grind-your-own bulk peanut butter at places like Sprouts or Central Market. Just peanuts, way less money per ounce, and zero guesswork on ingredients (and if you need a distraction for your kids, this is something they can help you with at the grocery store).

I’ve worked with thousands of clients to support steadier post‑meal blood sugar, and GOOD IDEA is a simple tool that can be added to a mealtime routine. It’s a lightly sparkling water with a patented blend of amino acids and chromium picolinate. Clinical studies have shown it can help reduce the post‑meal blood sugar rise when you drink 1/3 before eating and finish the rest with your meal.

Save this, pass it along to someone who might appreciate the reminder, and grab a GOOD IDEA if you want a simple, science‑backed way to support steadier post-meal blood sugar!
