Irving Police Department Receives Comfort Bears From NTBHA
The MultiSystemic Therapy (MST) Team of the North Texas Behavioral Health Authority made comfort bears to donate to local police departments for children who have experienced a traumatic event such as a car accident, house fire, or other event that requires intervention by law enforcement officers.
MultiSystemic Therapy is an evidence-based intervention for youth at high risk for out-of-home placement due to mental health needs, juvenile justice involvement, or substance use. Many of these young people have a history of trauma. The MST approach works to build on the strengths of the family in all areas of their lives, including home, immediate and extended family, peers, school and community.
