This weekend, consider trying one or two of these simple mood boosters:

Serotonin is one of the brain's key chemical messengers, playing an important role in mood, sleep, appetite, focus, and emotional well-being. While low serotonin activity has been associated with certain symptoms, it's only one piece of the puzzle—many factors can contribute to changes in mental health.

If you've been experiencing persistent sadness, anxiety, changes in sleep or appetite, low energy, or difficulty concentrating, you don't have to navigate it alone. A professional evaluation can help identify what's contributing to your symptoms and the most appropriate treatment options.

🍷 WHAT COUNTS AS ONE SERVING OF ALCOHOL?

Many people are surprised to learn that one drink isn't always one serving. Understanding standard drink sizes can help you make informed decisions about your health.

A STANDARD DRINK EQUALS:

🍺 12 oz. of regular beer (about 5% alcohol)
🍷 5 oz. of wine (about 12% alcohol)
🥃 1.5 oz. of distilled spirits (80 proof)

RECOMMENDED DAILY MAXIMUM INTAKE:

Women: Up to 1 standard drink per day
Men: Up to 2 standard drinks per day

These recommendations are intended for adults of legal drinking age who choose to drink. They are not an average to "save up" for later in the week.

Drinking more than the recommended limits can increase the risk of health problems, including anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, liver disease, and other chronic conditions.

If alcohol seems to be taking over your life affecting your mood, relationships, work, or daily life, know that treatment is available, and recovery is the goal.

ANXIETY VS. EVERYDAY STRESS: HOW DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE?

Everyone experiences stress from time to time. Stress is a natural response to life's challenges and often improves once the situation has passed.

Anxiety, on the other hand, can persist even when there isn't an obvious cause. It may interfere with your sleep, concentration, work, relationships, and overall well-being.

Signs it may be time to seek professional support:

✔️ Constant or excessive worrying
✔️ Difficulty sleeping or relaxing
✔️ Feeling restless or on edge
✔️ Panic attacks or overwhelming fear
✔️ Avoiding people or situations because of anxiety

You don't have to manage anxiety alone. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and effective treatment is available.
